( Pikepaw, sorry, short) Laurelkit looked up at another cat who had approached and smiled. "Hello." she said, her tail wrapping around her paws.

Pikepaw had been stretched out in front of the apprentices den, which felt oddly empty and still hadn't been completely repaired from the damages it had suffered during the avalanche. Getting bored, the dark blue tabby rolled onto his paws and looked around for someone to talk with. His eyes gleamed happily when he spotted a kitten wandering around camp, "hi! I'm Pikepaw."

Laurelkit nodded. "And I am Laurelkit. Pleased to meet you." she responed, a responce that was quite natural to her. "And how are you doing today?"

"Please to make your acquaintance as well, Laurelkit, And I'm doing good. Well, a little bored, but otherwise pretty good! There's not much to do around here these days... or well, I guess there is," he looked around guiltily at a few of the older cats that were repairing the camp, "but I'm about as useful as crowfood without a mentor around to set me up with a job. And there aren't really many apprentices to talk with either," Pikepaw sighed and then turned back to Laurelkit with smile, "enough of that boring talk though. Why don't we play a game? Got any that you like? Oh! Or I could show you some hunting or stalking moods if you'd rather that."

Laurelkit shook her head. "Ivwas raised outside the clan. I already have all the basics down." she responded with a small smile. "You don't have a mentor?"

'Wow really? That sounds like it must've been tough," Pikepaw blinked in surprised at the kitten. He knew that she must be close to apprentice age, but still, he couldn't image himself being able to live away from IceClan. "And, well, technically I do have a mentor--Lightheart," the dark blue-gray tom flushed a light pink at the name of the older tabby, "but I haven't seen him since the avalanche.... so... I don't think he's going to be able to finish my training..."

Laurelkit adressed his sentiments with a small nod and smile. "Well, Im sorry. I know that it will probably be tough transitioning to a new mentor. On top of that it means their incapable of training you for some reason or another so yeah. I'm sorry."

"Oh, don't worry about it," Pikepaw mewed, smiling softly at the kitten's kindness, "Lightheart is a strong cat, I'm sure he's well and happy, wherever he may be. And I don't think I've ever crossed paths with an IceClan cat that I haven't liked, so I'm sure that whoever my next mentor is, we'll get along. Now, what about you? You look like you'll be getting your own mentor very soon! Any warrior caught your eye?" he tipped his head to the side. He hadn't known any full-grown cats besides the queens when he was a kit, but his best friend Minnowkit, despite her bad temper, had been much more social than him and had known exactly who she wanted her mentor to be.

"The only warrior I know is Peachgrow, and she's the one who adopted me." she responded

"Oh! Peachglow! She's the new queen isn't she? I haven't talked to her yet, but she seems really nice," his ears perked with interest hearing that Laurelkit was born outside the Clans--or, that's what he assumed, anyway. Most kits that were adopted by queens weren't clan-born, although there were the rare cases that another nursing she-cat, usually a warrior, give the care of their litters to a queen. "She treats you well, I hope," he bit his lip, wondering if the kitten would find it intrusive if he asked about her past. "Would you... I mean, well, you don't have to, but would you mind telling me about your parents--only if you would like, that is! I was only with my family for a short period of time before I was taken into IceClan, and I've always enjoyed hearing others talk about their families," he flushed a bit, a little embarrassed by the fact.

Laurelkit nodded, her lips pursed. "Well... I was born inside the clan, so was my one and only brother. My dad left with me and we lived outside the clan for a while. I don't remember my mother, she stayed behind with my brother. My dad was nice I guess. A little tough for how young I was, but nice." she said, chosing not to tell the rest of the story of how she had gotten there. Pikepaw had only asked about her family, after all.

"That sounds nice," Pikepaw mewed with a gentle smile, "whose you're brother? Are you two close?" he tipped his head to the side curiously. As far as he could remember he was the only kitten in his litter. His step-mother, Rose, did have a few kits, but he wasn't old enough to get to know them particularly well for the short time they were together.

Laurelkit tthought fora moment. "Foxpaw, and I guess I can't really say I'm that close to anybody," she responded with a small frown. "What do you remember about your family?" (Sorry, short)

Pikepaw smiled, happy the she-kit was interested in learning about his family, although he felt a little sad that she didn't have anyone she was very close to. He used to have a best friend, Minnowpaw, but it looks as if she's disappeared. "Well, both my parents were kittypet's, that is until my mom ran away to become a rouge. I didn't get to meet my dad, or, well, at least I never remember ever having met him. My mom trained very hard to support us both after leaving her two-legs..." he tipped his head to the side, trying to remember more, "after a few moons of being on our own my mother found another rouge she-cat named Rose, who became like a second mother too me. She had some kits too, three, I think? Maybe four. They were much older than I was so I didn't get to know them very well," his tail-tip fluttered nostalgically, "I'm afraid I don't remember much else. It was only shortly after my mother and I met Rose that we were separated and IceClan took me in. I like to think that Rose and her found each other, and are now living peacefully together somewhere."

"Well I'm sorry," Laurelkit responded. "I understand how it feels to be seperated from you're own family and have no other real friends to understand you." She supposed death was differant than seperation and not trusting anyone anywhere was differant than being sepperated and having one best friend that disappeared, but it was still the same general thing. She shook her head and smiled. "At least they are probably together then," she responded before deciding to drop the subject of family. "So, what games do you like?"
