Of course life changed, but recently Bellpaw's life had changed in many more ways than what he was happy with. He had become an apprentice and Iceclan had gone back to their old home in the span of a few days, and he found that it was as if everything was travelling too fast and he was getting left behind. Bellpaw wanted to do everything right so he tried to make it seem like he was enjoying himself, but really he just wanted to go back to the barn that had always been his home.
Bellpaw sat in the middle of the camp looking around. The warriors and apprentices moved past him as if he was nothing more than a slight inconvenience and the kits were playing and didn't really seem to notice anything. Bell frowned. He hadn't had a training session yet so he might as well have been a kit, but he wasn't young enough to be able to pass for one. He was an apprentice and he had to act like it, but he didn't want to try and help out around the camp and end up getting himself in trouble because he didn't do something right. So the young apprentice had placed himself in a stalemate and that resulted of him just sitting in the middle of a camp that he really couldn't consider home yet.
This sucks. He thought as he furrowed his brow, still just observing everything happening around him. Bellpaw wanted to learn about the territory and how to fight properly instead of the play fighting he did a a kit. He wanted to go back to his home in the barn instead of the place he had never been to, but most of all he didn't want to disappoint anybody. He didn't want his mother to be sad because he didn't like the new camp in the place she had grown up in. He didn't want to disappoint the new leader and his mentor by stating how displeased he was with everything that was happening. He just didn't want to be seen as some dumb apprentice that can't handle unfamiliar things. So he settled for thinking his displeasment and watching others get on with their life. This new camp wasn't really his home, but he suppose sit was going to have to be.

Laurelkit glance around camp. She had just eaten a small mouse, and she made sure that when she left she stayed out of the way of the busy warriors. She spotted another cat and walke up to him. "Are you ok?" she asked, tilting her head. The other cat she had approached looked a little sad and out of place. Like a lower scale of what she was normally. "I'm Laurelkit."

Bellpaw wasn't expecting anybody to approach him, let alone a cat that looked around his age. His eyes locked on her as she approached him. He wondered if she was a kit or an apprentice, and if she had been born in this camp or in the barn, like him. Bell thought about this as she asked him if he was alright. "I suppose I am. There's not a whole lot for me not to be alright over." He stated. That wasn't completely true, but he decided that it was the better answer. "I'm Bellpaw." He responded when she stated her name was Laurelkit. He smiled as if to drive the point home that he was quite fine, even he wasn't.

Laurelkit nodded. "My goal is just to stay out of the way of people working for now. I'm not really ssure how clan life works, but I'm pretty sure it should calm own quite a bit once everything gets in order." she mused. "Nice to meet you Bellpaw." she noted his smile, but could also tell it wasn't quite genuine. Like almost all of her smiles in exsistance of ever. She had gotten used to recognizing them.

He figured that Laurelkit was right. Everything would calm down soon and everybody would go back to being normal after all of the hectic preparements in getting the new camp back to what it probably once was. Bellpaw wasn't sure he wanted that though. If it was hectic and chaotic then he could pretend that this was all temporary, but the second it settled down then he'd have to face the fact that this was his new home. He nodded. "I'm sure you're right and everything will settle down soon." He meowed. "It's nice to meet you as well Laurel."

"I don't know... what was life like when you guys lived in the barn?" she asked, tilting her head. "I joined on the trip back here, so I guess I just missed it."

What was life like at the barn? Bellpaw tilted his head slightly as he though. To him it had always just been home, since he had been born there. It had felt like there had been more freedom to wander around and explore, but that was maybe because the warriors had always been watching over the barn in order to prevent loners and rouges from walking in and doing bad things. "I guess since I was a kit for nearly mt entire time in the barn it had always just felt like I had more freedom there." He explained. "Yeah, but I guess you don't really have to feel out of place in the new camp." He added after she explained that she had arrived on the trip back. Bellpaw decided then that he should probably try to lighten the mood and put on another forced smile. "So are you excited to be an apprentice?" He asked, not really sure what else to ask a kit who looked to be around six moons old.

Laurelkit rolled her eyes. "I was a loner before I was adopted into the clan, so you have the same problem as me except you are more used to this many cats being around you." she laughed with a tinge of bitterniss, shaking her head.
"To be an apprentice I am not as excited as most kits would be. It's more like... I don't know, a bit more of a return to normallity than something to get all excited about."

Bellpaw was interested to find that she hadn't been born in the clan. He tilted his head a little as he wondered how different that would be for her to come here. He frowned and gazed around the camp once again to watch the other cats wander about. "I suppose you're right." He meowed after she finished talking. "You are a part of the clan now, but you weren't always. I have always been. I suppose becoming an apprentice would be different for you than it was form me."

"I would think becoming an apprentice would be differant for every kit," she responded. Bellpaw seemed a bit intrested in hearing she was adopted, but Laurel chose not to make a big deal out of it. "Th only cats I really know are Peachglow and Sunshadow though, so I really have no clue who will be my mentor. I also know Cinderflame, but she's probably much to busy being the deputy and all.

Bellpaw nodded. He supposed that she was indeed quite right. Everybody felt differently about their apprenticeship. Everybody also felt differently about their mentor and it seemed that at this moment that Laurelkit had no idea who her mentor would even be. "I suppose that the leader will give you a mentor he feels fit. I just hope you get a mentor that actually trains you." He stated, as he remembered the fact that he hadnt been trained at all by his own mentor.

Laurelkit giggled softly and nodded. "There aren't really that many warriors around here though. Not as many as I'm sure there ussually are." she frowned.

She was goth about a lot of stuff, but the lack of warriors seemed to be changing with all the new apprentices and kits in the clan. "I think in a few moons we might have more warriors in the clan, but I guess in a few moons it won't really matter as you'll already be an apprentice." He meowed with a smile. Maybe if he every actually got trained then he'd be a warrior by the time she became an apprentice. He doubted it as she didn't look too much younger than him, but anything was possible.

Laurelkit shrugged. "I guess. I won't be an apprentice if there aren't any warriors though," she sighed and shook her head. "I really am not that excited though."

Bellpaw tilted his head. She wasn't too excited? He supposed that if she had been outside the clan before then it wasn't anything new to go exploring in the territory. All the cats born in the clan were usually more excited because travelling outside the camp was so new. He himself wished that his mentor would actually just do something with him. "There's enough warriors to train you, no worries. Maybe you'll be training with another apprentice, but somebody will train you."
