[Willowspirit]

"Cloudskip." Willowpaw murmured. She didn't think that it was a big deal that her mentor was the deputy, since she had still been a warrior when Willowpaw was given to her. 

Willowpaw took another bite. She used to love bird, but now it only made her think of her kithood, and that caused her stomach to knot so badly that she thought she might vomit. "I wonder if Oceanstar will withhold my ceremony, though.." Willowpaw had never been punished for the fights she got into.

[Swanfrost]

"The deputy? Nice." Swanpaw bobbed her head lightly, nipping away a few more annoying feathers. Jeez, she didn't know how cats enjoyed eating these. They took so long to de-feather, and it was really just a waste of time in her opinion.

Swanpaw cocked her head to the side, her lips forming a straight line. "How come?" She assumed it had something to do with bad behavior, though she decided not to make any assumptions out loud.

[Willowspirit]

"Bad behavior." Willowpaw flicked her ear, looking at the ground. She wanted to talk about it, but at the same time, she didn't want Swanpaw to not understand her and reject her, ruining what chance she had at mending fences.

"I.." Willowpaw took another bite, starting to finish off the sparrow. "I mean, you already know that I got in some fights.. With Aloepaw, and Mudpaw. Oh, and Almondfire."

[Swanfrost]

Swanpaw nodded, curiosity gnawing at her. "Yeah, but you never told me why." She pressed. Swanpaw would understand if Willowpaw didn't want to talk about it, but she couldn't help but want to know. She was sure Willowpaw had a justifiable reason, and even if she didn't, who was she to judge? Swanpaw made enemies just because she was in a bad mood!

[Willowspirit]

"All three of them.." Willowpaw hesitated, not knowing whether to show weakness or not. "They were terrible to me. They all bullied me, and isolated me for all of my kithood, and even as I was an apprentice. So, I trained myself to fight, and the next time they were nasty to me, I tore them to shreds. I'm getting to be really good at fighting." Willowpaw spoke, proud of her skills.

[Swanfrost]

Swanpaw listened quietly, leaning forward like a kit hearing a story from an elder. She nodded once she was done explaining, muzzle scrunching in thought. She wanted to mention how Willowpaw had bullied her, and how she should have torn her to shreds... Though she reminded herself that was in the past. "That must of sucked, especially since their your family." She sympathized. "Any chance they're sorry about it?" Willowpaws family members weren't all that bad, especially Brightpaw.

[Willowspirit]

"Not Aloepaw or Almondfire. But they won't mess with me again, so it's fine." Willowpaw didn't care if she was liked, as long as she was respected.

"Mudpaw, though.. I don't know, maybe. It's complicated." At least, he admitted that he'd deserved to be hurt, but Willowpaw didn't know if that was out of guilt, or self-loathing. "I don't mean to bore you, I'm sure you don't care that much about my drama."

[Swanfrost]

Swanpaw nodded, though she wasn't sure who Mudpaw was. She thought she remembered Brightpaw mentioning him once, though she couldn't be sure, so she kept that to herself.

"Not even maybe, your life is definitely more interesting than mine." Swanpaw stated, her tone going dry at the end. She wished something interesting would happen already.

[Willowspirit]

"Interesting is a funny way to put it." Willowpaw thought that her life was more along the lines of awful and tragic. She flicked her tail. "Though, it's unreasonable of me to expect you to understand. Your littermates have never tried to kill you."

[Swanfrost]

Swanpaw swallowed, whiskers twitching. Should she mention the part that she was adopted? It wasn't like it was a huge secret, though she had only ever told one other cat... then again, Willowpaw had shared things about her personal life, and she supposed there was only one sure way to make friends. "I don't have any siblings, so no, they haven't tried to kill me." She forced an awkward laugh.

[Willowspirit]

Willowpaw nodded her head in understanding. There was no way Swanpaw would understand what it meant to have blood, and to have your own kin reject you. Again, and again..

"Count yourself lucky, then. I would kill to be an only kit." 

[Swanfrost]

Swanpaw shook her head, eyes growing dark. Only an adopted kit would understand, so she didn't bother to explain. At least Willowpaw knew why she wasn't wanted, Swanpaw had no clue. "Trust me, you don't wish that." She murmured, inspecting her claws.

"Though, I guess you aren't all that content with your life either." Willowpaw still thought that her life was worse. Swanpaw seemed not to be completely miserable, and Willowpaw was, well. There was no need to remind anyone of how awful and tragic her life had been.

Swanpaws thin shoulders bounced up in a petty shrug, gritting her teeth slightly. "Nobody has a perfect life, you just have to learn to suck it up and get over it." Swanpaw wasn't exactly talking to Willowpaw, it was more towards herself at the moment. She had always been bitter about her adoption.

[Willowspirit]

Willowpaw blinked, taking Swanpaw's words personally. "I know, I'm doing everything I can to be the best warrior that this clan has seen." Willowpaw was already a much better fighter than any cat she'd met so far, and her hunting skills were acceptable as well.
