[Swanfrost]

Swanpaw huffed. "Being the best warrior doesn't cut it." She paused, shuffling around to get comfortable. She had completely forgotten about the bird by now. "You moping around all depressed needs to stop. You can do things to help yourself, you know that, right?" Swanpaw flicked her eyes towards Willowpaw, searching her expression.

[Willowspirit]

Willowpaw took a moment to surprised, suprised by Swanpaw's bluntness. "I'm getting better.. You have no idea how hard it is for me, and I know that isn't a proper excuse, but it's still true."  She let out a sigh, her tail brushing against the ground. "What do you expect, for me to be nicer? That will just make it look like I'm grovelling and desperate."

[Swanfrost]

Swanpaw grumbled under her breath, shaking her head. "You're being nice right now, and so am I. Do I look desperate to you?" Swanpaw wasn't exactly being so nice now, but she was still being friendly. Friends have advice, didn't they? That exactly what she was trying to do.

[Willowspirit]

"I'll try, but not with any of my siblings, they're too far gone." Willowpaw decided, her two-toned eyes dark. "And.. I don't really know why you decided to be nice to me, to be honest, it would have been easy for you to just snap at me and be done."

[Swanfrost]

Swanpaw decided that was good enough for her. Any way, it was simply advice, it really wasn't any of her business's how she treated cats.

"I guess I thought you deserved a second chance since our last encounter. And, you're a very different cat." She shrugged.

[Willowspirit]

"I don't feel any different.." Willowpaw murmured thoughtfully, glancing down at her paws, then back at Swanpaw.

"Maybe we've both changed." She suggested.

[Swanfrost]

Swanpaw thought about it for a moment, muzzle wrinkling. "Maybe, but I don't feel any different either." She admitted. She was still the same bratty, insecure trouble maker that she was all those moons ago... wasn't she?

[Willowspirit]

Willowpaw hesitated, a question starting to burn in the back of her mind. She shuffled her paws very slightly, her tail low to the ground. "So.. Are we friends now?" Willowpaw, as pathetic as it sounded, didn't have any friends.

[Swanfrost]

Swanpaw blinked, looking towards Willowpaw and examine her expression. Not many cats wanted to be her friend in the first place, so she was shocked by the question. "....Do you want to be?" She asked slowly.

[Willowspirit]

"Well.." Willowpaw had very complicated feelings, but in her heart, she knew exactly what her answer was. "Yes. I mean, if you do, as well." For the first time in moons, Willowpaw was showing vulnerability, putting herself at another cat's whims.

[Swanfrost]

Swanpaw nodded, licking her lips. "Yeah, so, friends then." A little grin broke out on her face.

(Sorry, I'm super tired so it's short.)

Willowpaw didn't mean to get her hopes up, but she was extremely pleased. "Yeah. Friends."


((how about we end this thread and start a new one set a few days later with them as friends, since this one is dying a little bit?))

Swanpaw stood, giving her chest fur a few quick licks. She was tired, and a nap sounded just right. "See you around Willowpaw." She waved her tail in a lazy goodbye, slowly padding towards the camp.
