Fallenpaw gave out a small warning, "Well I don't either," she said before lightening up. She kept in mind the challenge from before though, and refused to let even the smaller smile be displayed on her face. "I'm not simply sureprised you care. I'm surprised that you seem to care more than me. I believe one shouldn't care without being given a reason and, well, you haven't."

"If I can more than you, then something must be wrong with you," Ivy said casually. "Because I know for a fact there's something wrong with me." She said it like it was a joke, but for a moment it struck her how true the statement was. She shrugged it off- she'd think about that later. "I already don't care as much as I should." Breifly, Ivy thought of Darya, the young loner she used to know. She missed her. Time for a change of subject. This was getting a little too real.
"What happened to teaching me how to climb a tree?"

Fallenpaw shrugged. "If you acctually want to learn I can teach you." she said, moving towards a tree that was right on the border. It was thick enough for half of it to be considered on each side though. On top of that some of the branches were pretty low making it even easier. She had a feeling climbing up the bare trunk of a tree would have posed an issue.

"I hardly would have asked if I didn't," Ivy scoffed with a flick of her tail. She mirrored Fallenpaw's movements, until she was near the tree on her side of the border. She tipped her head to the side as she looked up at it. "So. I could leap about halfway up. That's kinda my specialty. After that, what do I do?"

Fallenpaw nodded. "Not with all trees though. We should practice a little for climbing bigger trees, even though this one is a bit smaller. Let's see... Ypu know how to hunt, right? Well this is like vertical stalking. You're gonna dig your claws into then tree so you don't fall off, and then stalk up one paw at a time." she tried to explain and then did it herself, making her way up to a lower branch so she could watch what Ivypaw did.

"Huh," Ivy nodded, observing the way Fallenpaw moved closely. When the other apprentice got to the top of the lower branch, she slid out her claws and started to try it on her own, keeping in mind what Fallenpaw had done. "Hmm." He managed to get up a few steps the first time before she lost her grip and landed on all fours on the forest floor to try again. When she tried again, she tried to imagine the lower branch as a piece of prey, and moved more slowly, as though she was trying to keep quiet.
It was difficult when she found gravity was working against her, but eventually she got the hang of it, even if her last steps to the branch were more of a scramble that sent a lot of bark showering to the ground. She flexed her claws, now somewhat sore, as she sat perched on the branch, looking down. "This is against everything I've ever been taught," she decided out loud. "Cats definitely don't belong in trees. What on earth has your clan been doing over there?" Despite her comments, she found she couldn't stop smiling. She was proud, too, after all- she had managed to do it.

Fallenpaw shrugged. "From here it's easy," she responded, deciding it was better to show than to tell what was so special about trees. "Just make sure to step on sturdy branches." she added before making her way up the branches, which was more like a mix of jumping and walking than climbing, until she reached a high branch and sat. It was a nice day, and the breeze in the tree was warmed by the sun as it swept past her face. Really it was a mix of the weightless feeling an so rje wheather, but trees were the best on days like that.

Jumping, Ivy could do. She took pride in it, in fact- all IceClanners did, to a certain point. Granted, she was much less practiced and graceful about it than Fallenpaw was at this height, but she quickly adjusted to jumping at different heights. "Wait," she realized, as she was jumping from one branch to another. "If your name is Fallen, why haven't you yet? And if you haven't yet, your name is definitely asking for it."
She was a few tail lengths below Fallenpaw when she reached the last branch on her side of the border. Ivy hated being bested. Besides- the border probably didn't apply all the way up here. Hopefully Fallenpaw wouldn't try to push her off. With a tad too much confidence for a cat who had only just learned how to climb, Ivy leaped up to Fallenpaw's branch, which, thankfully, had enough strength to support both of them. "Hi there," she meowed with a grin. "I'd rather you not push me off just for being here, thanks."

Fallenpaw shrugged. "Your leader is named Fallenstar. How many times have you seen him fall down a cliff?" she asked, acctual curiousity ringing through her voice. Slightly surprised as Ivypaw jumped onto her branch, Fallenpaw moved to the side a little as to not be hit. This landed her further from the trunk than Ivypaw, which she didn't be trust though she didn't say anything either. "See why we like to climb now?" she asked, feeling the warm breeze through her fur. It was almost like flying...

Ivy mentally stumbled for a minute at that, honestly having forgotten that her leader shared a name with this apprentice. "Hmm. I guess I haven't," she admitted. "He's certainly fallen down within the opinion of most of the cats in the clan, though." Maybe it wasn't the best idea to share that Fallenstar and his plans were being brought into question to someboy from another clan, but Fallenpaw was an apprentice. She couldn't do too much damage with that information.
"Yeah," she nodded, taking a deep breath. Everything seemed clearer up here. The storm in her own mind seemed distant. "I guess it's kind of nice."

Fallenpaw tilted her head slightly. "What's it like? Living in Iceclan, always being cold, eating fish?" she asked, half distracted though she did keep half an eye on Ivypaw. Though it may look it, she still didn't trust the other cat. Not completely, that was.

"Well, for us, it's about as normal as...well," Ivy flashed a grin. "Climbing trees." Yeah. She was hilarious. "You'd actually be surprised how easy it is to get used to fish, though. When I was younger I didn't even get the chance to eat much of it, what with living in the barn, but now, it's great."
"Maybe I could catch one for you sometime?"

Fallenpaw tilted her head slightly. "It would be a good skill to learn... I should see if anyone would be willing to teach me," she shrugged.

Ivy considered that for a moment. "I could do that, too," she offered. "Since you taught me how to climb and all." She scrambled slightly to amend the statement and provide a reason her her generosity. "Might be difficult since there isn't exactly a river on the border, but...we could try to figure something out?"

Fallenpaw nodded and gracefully made her way down the tree, though she could have also jumped strait down. That to was another skill, making sure you could jump down and keep your knees bent properly so you didn't have to take the acctual force of hitting the ground at such speeds. "That's fine. I'm sure I can find someone in Treeclan who knows how to fish."
