Ivy didn't care much about the borders. She respected them, of course, since not doing so could result in bodily harm, but she didn't care about them. She'd taken to exploring IceClan's territory as of late, but despite knowing that it was their home, it didn't really feel like hers. She'd grown up in the barn, without boundaries. She missed the rafters under the ceiling, the nooks and crannies, she missed being able to wander without being noticed or told where and where not to go.
The boundaries were a limitation to her wandering nature. A necessary limitation, but a limitation nonetheless. She stopped at the edge of the border just short of stepping over it, and stayed there. When she tasted the air, she could tell somebody was nearby.

Fallenpaw smelt the air, her gaze wandering across the border as she watched for anything odd, though even if there were she wasn't sure exsactly what she would do. It was more for the walk. Her mouth pulled down into a frown as she spotted another cat from where she walked. She was behind a few trees, so she doubted she had been spotted, bit she was aware as she moved closer she was probably seen as she had a dark pelt and ginger stripes. She couldn't blen in anywhere.

When the stranger Ivy knew was on the other side of the border didn't bother to show themsleves, Ivy decided to speak up. "I know you're there. There's no point in hiding," she meowed, a hint of amusement in her voice. It was hard to tell from scent alone, but perhaps the other apprentice was younger, or at the very least, less experienced. A TreeClanner, too. When still, nothing happened, she chuckled slightly.
"Are you going to come out, or am I going to have to go over there and look for you?"

"Would you?" she asked, slowly making her way slowly forwards. "Who even are you?"

Ivy couldn't hide the mischievous glint in her eyes as they landed on the TreeClan apprentice. "'Course I would," she replied nonchalantly, as though breaking the Warrior Code itself wasn't much of a big deal. "It'd be your fault for letting me, anyway, if I did." With that, she smirked slightly at that.
"I'm Ivy," she introduced herself, bowing slightly. "You're a TreeClanner. Tell me- what's it like there? Oh, and your name, if you wouldn't mind."

"You are mistaken. I wouldn't let you in, I'd fight you over it." she responded, a small glint in her eyes. "Im Fallenpaw." she responded. "And in Treeclan we can do this." she responded, rushing to the nearest tree and scaling it, sitting on the thickest branch she could find where she could still see Ivypaw.

"Oooooh, I'm shaking," Ivy meowed somewhat mockingly, with a roll of her eyes. "That really scares me. Besides, it's not like I'd do anything. Just pop over for a visit. You wouldn't kick lil' ol' me out, would you?"
She let out an admittedly impressed whistle when Fallenpaw made her way up the tree with ease. "Cool. Wanna show me that trick or you just gonna leave me down here?"

"If I leave you don't there you can't sneak in through the canopy," she considered before nodding. There were enough cats in the trees anyways. "Sure, if you want to learn." she said, jumping down and landing on her side of the border in front of the other cat.

Ivy sighed, clicking her tongue distastefully. "Ever heard of a joke?" Ivy rolled her eyes, still looking up at Fallenpaw. "No sense of humor, this one," she muttered to nobody in particular, but she made sure it was loud enough for Fallenpaw to hear. She couldn't hide the genuinely excited glint in her eyes, though, when the TreeClanner agreed to teach her.
"I'm always willing to learn. Maybe after this I can teach you how to have fun. Or at least smile."

Fallenpaw held back a laugh. "I know how to smile. But I also know how to not get myself killed. There are more important things going on in Treeclan and I don't think a cat whining about betrayal is what we need."

"You have yet to prove it," Ivy scoffed. Maybe by the end of this chat, Ivy will have done something she never has before- made somebody else smile. It was a nice thought, if nothing else, though a pathetic attempt at trying to make up for all the emotional chaos she'd left in her wake.
"Oh?" She pricked her ears when Fallenpaw mentioned trouble in TreeClan. "Is there drama going on over there? I want details. And before you get prickly about it, I won't tell anyone. It's not like I have anyone to tell, anyway."

Fallenpaw rose an eyebrow. "I never said that. I said there were more important things to worry about. Huntjng, training apprentices, a c-" she cut herself off, "Maundane things like that are more important than me."

"A cat whining about betrayal," Ivy repeated, eyes locked on Fallenpaw with a sudden seriousness, as though this one fact was the most important thing in the entire world. "That's what you said. And you were just about to say something else about it. That means somebody's stirring up some trouble over there." She flicked her tail and flashed another smirk. "And I want the deets. Give 'em." It then occurred that if something serious had really happened, all of her prying would be really insensitive, so she added, "Wait- nobody's gotten hurt, have they?"

There was a warning in Fallenpaw's gaze as she spoke. "I said that because I don't trust other cats. If I trust tou, I know you would betray me. Cats in my clan would and so would cats in others," she said, her voice hard. She was surprised by Ivypaw's next question though, which was plain and obvious on her face, and she answered in truthful vagueness. "Cats are always hurt. Every day."

"Riiiight," Ivy rolled her eyes. She noted the warning behind her words, but ignored it anyway. What could Fallenpaw do to her without crossing the very border and the code she held so dear, anyway? In any case, her lack of an answer to Ivy's first question was an answer in itself. Something was going down in TreeClan. Something bad, if it was leading Fallenpaw to believe that her own clanmates would betray her. Fallenpaw struck Ivy as a paranoid type- too wary -but not as the needlessly paranoid. She had a good reason not to trust Ivy, and it was likely she had a good reason not to trust members in her own clan, too.
Ivy had theories, but she pushed them down. She'd think on that, either. In the meantime, perhaps she could still get Fallenpaw to lighten up. Or at least be sincere about something. Or something like that. "You act as though you're surprised I care," Ivy raised a fictional eyebrow, then shrugged. "To tell you the truth, so am I. But here I am. A cat is a cat. I bother 'em, but I don't want to see them hurt, either. Doesn't matter what clan they're from to me- you may have noticed I don't care much about the borders."
