- Any loners or rogues wishing to claim this territory are welcome to post here. Max of three. Please wait until all Fireclan members have finished posting. Swanfrost and Sparkpaw -
Oceanstar strode confidently into Rockclan territory, tail flagging proudly. He expected no resistance, considering Rockclan had already moved on. From what he understood their camp had been destroyed by the rest of their territory was relatively hospitable. His warriors could learn to hunt and work there and they would be all the stronger for it. Rockclan territory was no use to Iceclan; a waterfall separated them and he doubted Fallenstar was fool enough to order his cats to cross the water every day just for a little more territory.
"Begin marking the border here," he instructed at the bottom of the valley. "We'll climb up and mark the other side too after. Keep an eye out for trouble, though I doubt we've anything to worry about."

Swanfrost reminded herself not to walk ahead, keeping a tail lengths away from Oceanstar. She was slightly annoyed that she would need to learn how to hunt on the different terrain, although in the end she was sure it was worth it. She doubted there would be any trouble, although she still kept her ears alert.
Swanfrost nodded at the order, obeying quickly. She didn't want to have to stay here too long. It gave her an odd feeling. Perhaps it was because she had known the original borders for all her life, and suddenly she was exactly where she wasn't allowed to be only days before. Either way, she was fairly excited.

Sparkpaw followed Oceanstar closely, keeping distance between himself and Swanfrost. He still didn't know what to think about the she-cat. He wasn't going to pretend that he liked her, but he didn't exactly hate her either. And the situation between them and their respective friends was still muddled in his eyes; he knew this wasn't the place and time to be talking with Oceanstar about their problems, especially since Firewasp wasn't here, but he couldn't help but feel guilty about not talking to his leader about it.
Sparkpaw decided to turn his focus onto the new territory. "What kind of prey do you think we'll find around here?" he asked Oceanstar, sniffing around. It was strange to be away from the prairie, and Sparkpaw doubted that rabbits would want to make their home in such rocky soil.
The young tom nodded dutifully as Oceanstar instructed that they were going to mark the new borders. He split off from the two older cats, only a few fox-lengths or so, and placing a scent mark.

He allowed the patrol to continue in relative silence. He'd never known Swanfrost to be much of a talker, at least not to him. Sparkpaw's silence was surprising but Oceanstar assumed he was taking the task seriously, and regarded his apprentice with something akin to pride. Sparkpaw had grown up well, despite the lack of formal training he had undergone from Oceanstar.
Then, there were the questions he had come to expect. The tortoiseshell smile. "Some rabbits still, I presume. Mice and shrews, just like our own territory. More birds as well. It's the terrain we'll need to adapt to, not so much the diet." With a flick of his tail he beckoned both cats to begin following him up the wall of the valley, climbing past the small waterfall that pooled below. "It's another protected water source as well. We'll be glad for that in the hotter moons."
When he reached the top Oceanstar looked along the length of the chasm, noting how long it would take them to mark the whole section together. "Sparkpaw you come with me to the left. Swanfrost you take the right, work all the way down to the end of the chasm. We'll meet back in the middle, it'll save time."

Belladonna had never spent much time around the RockClan territory, and she really hadn't planned on doing so. Now, however, the brown and cream she-cat easily traversed the stony area, using the skills that she had learned in IceClan to guide herself through the precarious land.
After a while of scouting, she found herself stalking a small group of clan cats which she recognized as FireClan. Disgust bubbled up inside of Belladonna, and she couldn't help but sneer as she watched them. Didn't FireClan already have enough territory? They weren't suited for a place like this, and whoever thought that expanding their borders was necessary was clearly a power-hungry fool.
Nothing could be accomplished by skulking about in the shadows, so Belladonna drew in a deep breath, and padded forward, regarding the patrol with contempt.
"Now, what's this?" Belladonna tilted her head to the side, her claws unsheathed. They couldn't accuse her of trespassing- This was not FireClan land. "Do you think that you can take all of this territory for yourself? I suppose FireClan must be as greedy and cruel as ever, then."

Swanfrost nodded, slightly separating from the group before another cat scent entered her nostrils. Her back arched, and unsheathed claws dug into the ground. She eyed the feline with distaste, a scowl on her face. "And what? You think you deserve it instead?" She laughed cruelly. She wasn't in the mood to be dealing with a pesky loner, and definitely wasn't in the mood for a fight. Though, obviously, if Oceanstar told her to do so she would. Now that she got more of the cats scent, she quickly realized this indeed was not a loner. Too many cat scents surrounded her. Perhaps she had a small colony of cats together? Was she with Deathclan? Swanfrost remained alert, checking her surroundings encase it turned out that this was some sort of ambush.

Sparkpaw pouted. He had hoped that there would be some exotic prey running around--like squirrel! He had never had squirrel before! But the tom guessed that, seeing as the two territories were so close together already, it would be strange for their to be a sudden shift in the type of prey. The orange tom nodded as Oceanstar mentioned the terrain. "Hopefully is isn't too dangerous for apprentice's up here," he mewed, momentarily forgetting that he was still one himself, "why did RockClan leave again? I don't remember Cloverstar every really specifying it?" he tipped his head to the side, thinking back to the gathering where the leader had mentioned her move. Something about "precarious conditions", right?
He perked up as he spotted the waterfall, "it's so pretty," he mewed, wondering if it would feel like rain if he stood under it--not that he would actually do so, getting drenched wasn't something he considered a pleasurable pass-time.
Sparkpaw had just began to bound towards Oceanstar when he heard the voice of another cat. The fur along his spine pricked in alarm, and he spun on his heels to face Belladonna. His eyes narrowed at her words and he opened his mouth to hiss a reply to her but Swanfrost beat him to it. The apprentice's tail lashed, and he quickly looked to Oceanstar, wondering what his leader would have him do. He didn't like this cat's attitude, but even so he didn't really want to fight her--three against one didn't seem fair. Hopefully she'll just leave when she realizes that we won't backdown.

Angel may have been young, but she knew an opertunity when she saw one as well as how to fight. The Rockclan territory had been left, and she had decided it would be worth it to try to claim some of the land as her own. She scouted out the area first, finding a Fireclan patrol and deciding to join the cat already confronting them for the territory. They were a Deathclan cat, and she was to, so it wasn't that on far fetched to say they might work together.
From what Angel heard, the other Deathclanner had some fair points an so hey, she was willing to back them up. Not imeadiatly though. No. first she would stay back and watch, and then swoop in when she was needed. She found a spot behind a rock hidden from their view that gave her the perfect vantage point and sat tight, hoping not to be noticed.

- Going to close this thread now to any more characters as it has been open for four days -
Oceanstar hesitated on his way when a rogue smelling of rats and feces appeared over the rise. Deathclan, his nose told him. The tortoiseshell was hardly surprised by the appearance, but certainly interested in how the she-cat aimed to take the land from three hostiles. Not that he'd immediately descend into fighting, he had ethics. With a wave of his tail Oceanstar summoned Sparkpaw, hoping his apprentice would have enough sense to remain by his side through the encounter. For now he had to leave his apprentice's questions unanswered.
The leader kept an eye on Swanfrost as he approached the scene, hoping she would have the sense not to create a threatening situation without his order. "As opposed to Deathclan's angelic policies," he replied smoothly, meeting the rogue's gaze with a smile. "The land on the left side of Rockclan territory, the chasm up to the waterfall, are being claimed by Fireclan. You may have access to the farmlands and fields, Fireclan has no interest in it." It was a generous offer, not that Oceanstar wanted the territory anyway. "I would consider accepting that proposal before you commit yourself to a darker route."

Belladonna did not respond for a moment, looking at the three cats carefully. She knew that if it came down to physical fighting, then she wouldn't have a chance. Perhaps she could slit the youngest cats throat before the other two got to her, but that would only give them cause to end her life in return.
"Who are you to give and take territory as you please?" Belladonna inquired. She had already seen that the tortoiseshell tom was this group's leader, but she didn't know his name or rank. Last time she checked, Darkstar was still the clan leader, meaning that this was likely the deputy.
She tilted her head. "Has your CloudClan given you permission to extend you borders? I thought you clan cats only acted on the whim of the dead." The brown and cream tabby drawled out, her claws scratching the stony surface beneath her.

Swanfrost let out a snort of annoyance, though otherwise she remained silent. After all, the feline wasn't exactly talking to her, and it would be rude to speak to her clan leader. Although, she wasn't exactly sure why he hadn't demanded an attack on her yet. She was only causing trouble.
Swanfrost hadn't forgotten to keep her guard up, and she wasn't exactly surprised when she caught the scent of another cat. She couldn't exactly pinpoint it, and she looked around discreetly for the source. She didn't want the possible Deathclanner in front of her to realize she had found the other cat, as Swanfrost had initially assumed they were working together.
Swanfrost curled her tail lightly, digging her claws into the ground below her. She flashed Oceanstar a warning look when she thought Belladonnas focus was on something else, hoping he would somehow manage to understand her. The situation just got a lot more dangerous, and who knew if there were other cats hanging around, waiting to strike.

Angel's eyes were on the warrior as Belladonna spoke. The warrior was the biggest threat at the moment seeing as one was much younger and the other had her attention. So, of coarse, she noticed the cat gazing around, discreetly, sure, and she wouldn't have noticed if her full attention wasn't in the warrior, but it was. She took a step deeper into her hiding place just for safe measure. She still had a view of the cats but would have to move again if they moved.

Sparkpaw stuck close to his mentor, the fur along his spine rising at Belladonna's hostility. He had never been in an actual fight before, and he wasn't too keen to change that fact--but, that being said, he couldn't help but lash his tail at the she-cat's disrespectful attitude. He shot Oceanstar a glance, trying to quickly decipher how the older tom was going to handle the situation.
DeathClan? he turned curiously to Belladonna, I thought they disbanded? It had been a rumor, but Sparkpaw had believed it to be a likely one since DeathClan cats hadn't caused any issues since their leader, Drought, died. He pushed that thought aside, interested in seeing how Belladonna would handle the compromise Oceanstar had offered her.
