Sparkpaw
Willowspirit had not asked to live such an unhappy life, and yet, here she was. Willowspirit was absentmindedly padding alongside the pond shore, going over in her head why things had gone so wrong for her.
The first ones to blame were her parents. Hazelclaw was okay, but he hadn't been around, and Pinyondapple was a complete and utter coward. Then, her littermates had just made it worse. Willowspirit had been a bit bratty as a kit, and that had made her an easy target for cats like Aloepaw, Almondfire, and Mudclaw. However, she was too pretentious to make friends with her sister, Brightwing, or that other cat Bluepaw.
It seemed that she was doomed from the start. Perhaps, if she'd met Swanfrost or Stormsong earlier, or if she'd gotten on Almondfire's good side, and had the nastiness brought out of her, she would be happier. She was glad that she hadn't turned out like Almond and Aloe, though, if anything.
Feeling frustrated with her life, the injured and scarred she-cat walked a bit more briskly, padding through some reeds and running straight into another cat. Willowspirit recoiled with a hiss, stumbling back and glowering at the cat.
"Hey!" She snapped, not in the mood for socializing. "Watch it!"

Sparkpaw trotted through the territory. Things seemed nice nowadays. Sure, there was the drama with Swanfrost and Firewasp and, yes, it did drain him a little, but the young tom was a fireball of energy and it was relatively easy for him to bounce back.
He had been heading to the blossom pond, re-familiarizing himself with the old borders before they changed, and stopping now to have a short drink. He gasped in surprise when when he walked into another cat, not really expecting anyone to be around--which was silly, of course, there were so many cats in FireClan these days that it was hard to get anytime alone. Not that Sparky complained about this, he loved company.
"Oops," the orange tom mewed, "sorry!" He tipped his head to the side, looking at the she-cat curiously, "oh, hey, I know you! You were at Firewasp's warrior ceremony, weren't you? What's your name again... Willowspirit?" he grinned brightly, "that's a nice name, you don't here -spirit often, do you? I'm Sparkpaw by the way!"

Willowspirit frowned, taken aback by this cats friendliness. She recognized him as Sparkpaw, one of Oceanstar's apprentices, though she didn't know much else about him. "Yeah, that's me.. Nice to meet you, Sparkpaw." She said hollowly, not really meaning her words.
Thinking back on the ceremony, Willowspirit did think it was odd that she was given the suffix 'spirit', when she felt so empty inside. Oceanstar had used the words hard-working and selfless as her virtues, but Wilowspirit didn't think those were accurate. If she had to describe herself, Willowspirit would choose self-pitying and rude.
"Aren't you Firewasp's friend?" She asked, narrowing her eyes. Was this one of the cats who was accusing Swanfrost of attacking another clan-mate without reason?

"It's nice to meet you too!" Sparkpaw mewed, in a good mood and not catching how hollow her reply had been.
"Yup!" he chirped brightly, not noticing her narrowed eyes either. He tipped his head to the side, yellow eyes gleaming with curiosity, "do you know her?" Sparkpaw wasn't too familiar with Firewasp's friends--he knew that she had at least one that was a warrior, although he had thought that it was his sister, Rosetail. Maybe they just met? He wanted to ask if Willowspirit had heard that Firewasp was stuck in the medicine den, it seemed as if his friends wasn't getting many visitors other than himself, but he held himself back--not wanting the question as to why she was in the medicine den to come up. He wasn't sure if it was right to be gossiping about that until Oceanstar had been more thoroughly informed.

Willowspirit couldn't recall if she'd ever talked to Firewasp, but if she had, then the conversation mustn't have been very noteworthy. She supposed she'd remember if she talked to a heavily wounded, manipulative liar, but perhaps Swanfrost was the liar and Firewasp hadn't don anything wrong at all.
"No, not personally." Willowspirit finally answered after a long pause. "But I've heard stories about her, and I'd like to hear your side of the story." She supposed that if she tried to dance around the point then it might annoy Sparkpaw. It annoyed Brightwing when she'd done it. "Do you know what happened with her and Swanfrost?" If Swanfrost got herself exiled, then.. Willowspirit wasn't sure if she would be all that broken up about it. Maybe it would be for the best.

Sparkpaw shifted a bit at the question, a little surprised to be so directly asked. "Oh, um," he bite his tongue quickly, forcing himself to think a bit before he blurted out a ramble of words as he usually did. He was directly involved with the incident, at least not in the beginning, and gossiping about it made him feel a little uneasy. Still, he had a hard time turning down the opportunity to spread a story. "Well, from what I heard the two got into a fight during their apprenticeship, I think it was over a rabbit?" that was what Swanfrost had told him anyway, Firewasp had never specifically told him how the fight broke out on her side of the story, "it's a little unclear who started it, Swanfrost said it was Firewasp and Firewasp said it was Swanfrost--I talked with both of them about it," he was still feeling a bit guilty about the fact too, he know that he hadn't done anything to betray Firewasp but it still felt like he had in a way, "I'm inclined to believe Firewasp--but, y'know, I wasn't there, and I'm a bit biased. We've been friends since kithood, y'now? It's hard to imagine your friends bringing harm upon others," he sighed, "anyway, I had helped Firewasp to the medicine den just before she got her warrior ceremony--her wounds from the fight had reopened, apparently she had never gone to get them checked out after the fight."

Willowspirit nodded thoughtfully, listening to Sparkpaw quietly and deciding that at least, for now, she would treat him as if he were telling the truth. In reality, she had no idea what actually happened. "Most cats are capable of violence." She murmured, glancing down at the ground. Willowspirit herself had layers and layers of wounds from various fights, and she'd never bothered to get any of them treated.
"That sounds unfortunate for Firewasp.. I've talked to Swanfrost and she seems fine." Willowspirit couldn't be one to judge unfair fights, considering the way she tore Aloepaw apart. This entire situation made her extremely uncomfortable, and she felt as if anything she said would be hypocritical.
She hesitated before speaking again, her tail low and brushing the ground. "I heard that, uh. Brightwing," Willowspirit's lip curled at the thought of her sister. "was involved in the fight too."
