| T he sky was clear, showing that it would be a truly beautiful day. Winter padded around on the lush grass, doing whatever he usually did at this time of day, which wasn't much. His thoughts consisted of past memories, and he always looked over his shoulder. He couldn't forget his ugly past that fast. That was his weakness, his past, and if anyone used it against him, he would fall.
However, he was very good at secrets, and didn't say anything about what had happened to him, or what he was before he escaped. He would lie if he had to, but he certainly didn't like going straight to that option. He had been taught to keep his guard up and take the others down, and so they thought they could trust you, but you always kept a watchful eye out. He guessed that's what he was doing now.
Winter padded along, trying to track down a cat. He had recently been given an assignment to find her and extract information out of her. He shook his head helplessly. If he could ever get these programmed thoughts out of his head, he would be a lot better of. No, it wasn't an assignment, and he wasn't going to 'extract' any information from anyone. He sighed, then perked his ears as the scent of a Deathclanner hit his nose.

Sky had come back to Deathclan. She had been gone for a few days, not that anybody would miss her. She had plans going all the way through the alphabet, and she was still trying to decide which one to pick. She had a plan A, plan B, plan C, and even plan D for everything.
Sky's ears swivelled, her nose twitching, tail stilling. Someone was behind her. Not quite close enough to be alarming, but close enough to catch her attention. She kept walking, taking a few lefts, though keeping her pace a normal speed. She would pick it up if he kept following her though.
Perhaps Pain had heard that Belladonna was trying to overthrow him, and knew that Sky had chosen to follow her. Perhaps Belladonna herself had sent him. Taking another left, Sky had now done a full circle.

| W inter followed the calico in a circle, throughly amused. The cat was trying to throw him off her scent, or at least checking to see if he was following her. After a bit of pacing, he decided that if he didn't say something, she might run off, scared of what he would do to her.
"Are you Sky?" he asked, first off. If she wasn't, he would leave. When Belladonna gave him information about the cat, she had said Sky was a blind calico, and Winter had found himself a calico. He hadn't gotten close enough to see her face to see if she was blind, however.

Sky had confirmed she was being followed. She calmly turned around when he called to her, easily keeping her face pointed to him despite her lack of sight. She didn't recognize his scent, and she didn't know him, so he had to be sent by someone. She considered her actions carefully. If she lied about her name she would seem untrustworthy, and whoever had sent him... What had they wanted? To test her? To kill her? She didn't like either one.
"Indeed." She purred, closing the gap between them. It was a bold move, though if he had wanted to attack her, she would have to face him head on anyways. She appeared completely relaxed, though she was ready to fight at a moments notice. "You know me, but I certainly don't know you." She raised a brow, expecting him to explain.

| W inter stood stock still as she walked closer to him. He had been trained since kithood how to react to unknown cats, and attack if they pose any threat. Though, he didn't follow the last rule anymore, since he personally thought it was extremely stupid.
Winter held his tongue for a moment, and decided to tell his real name, since aliases weren't needed. And besides, he needed her to trust him, though not much, just enough. "I'm Winter, and I could tell you much more, but I don't feel like it," he said, a bit slyly. He started straight into her... eye sockets, his muscles a little tense, just in case she was hostile. Though, he planned to have a simple interrogation of her, then continue on his way. Again, he shook his head. This was not to be an interrogation, but a conversation.

"Good, because I really don't care enough to listen." She answered in the same tone, her tail swaying behind her calmly. "So..." She drawled out, circling him slowly, her ears perked. "Who sent you?" She decided to be straight with him. She wanted him to know that she had already figured out what he wanted from her, even if she didn't exactly. Although, she was sure it was either Pain or Belladonna who sent the tom, she still couldn't decide who.

| W inter laughed. "Why would you think someone sent me?" he asked in a cold, piercing voice. He could care less that she thought someone sent him, though it was true. He just wanted to get to his point, ask her a question, and leave. He didn't have time for games, nor did he want to play them.

"Everyone wants to know something." Sky shrugged nonchalantly, not in the mood for small talk. "Spit it out. What did you want me for?" Her voice was cold, claws digging into the ground encase he decided to suddenly attack. Although, she doubted he would. If that's what he was sent here for, he would have done it already.

| W inter nodded. So they both didn't like small talk, though he would get his answer through it. "What do you think of Belladona? Do you like Pain better, do you support her, or would you rather go your own way? I'm a little indecisive," he threw the last part in to make it sound like he wasn't going straight to the point, when he was. He was always good at getting the answers he needed, but questioning had never gone like this before.

Sky's face was unreadable. She knew she was correct though; Either Pain or Belladonna had sent him. But who? She wouldn't call him out on his fib, right now she has the upper paw, and she wanted to keep it that way. "What's it to you?" She challenged, shifting her weight onto her back legs discreetly.

| W inter held back a snarl. Some cats put him on edge, even the tiniest bit, and he didn't like it. "You live in Deathclan, and it's all the rage right now," he responded.

"Care to explain how you knew my name?" Sky tested, letting a grin settle on her face as she avoided the topic of leadership. She could sense his irritation.

| W inter held his head up a bit higher. "I pick up lots of names when talking to many cats," he responded. "Your name happened to pop up, and I'd never met you before."

"Interesting." Sky stated dryly. He was being uncooperative. "Who exactly were you talking to when my name just happened to 'pop up'." It could very well be true, but she didn't trust him, and probably never would. He definitely had something to hide.

| W inter continued his story at her next question. "An old friend I met from when I was in training. She lived in these parts for a short while, before she left to join the clans." This wasn't going the way he wanted it to go, and he wished she would just tell him the information he needed. Then he would leave.
