L oki's eyes pierced the darkness as he suddenly pounced upon her, claws seathed. He laughed as they rolled a few tail lengths, then he leaped away. ((sorry if this is powerplaying D: and GEEZ why so short?))

Squirrelbite snarled, realizing just how much she hated feeling trapped. Loki's laughter sounded sinister instead of playful, further distorting the young she-cat's perception. Claws unsheathed, she took the first opportunity she had to lunge at Loki, trying to barrel him over and pin him down.
((it's all good man ^^))

L oki was slightly surprised as she suddenly leaped at him, but it was nearly completely dark and hard to see, since the moon was hidden and no light shone in the darkness. He felt claws against his fur, and she had snarled. He had obviously scared her. "Woah!" The surprised word had just slipped from his mouth. He didn't want to hurt her, since he had fought in the pitch blackness before, he had an advantage. He leaped back, out of her reach.

Squirrelbite skidded to a halt, looking around wildly. Loki's pelt blended in perfectly with the darkness, he clearly had spent enough time in these tunnels to know how to navigate them, and he seemed to know how to fight in these close spaces. Being at such a disadvantage made any trust that she previously showed vanish.
Warily, she looked around, trying to relocate Loki. Her thin fur was standing on end, and her unsheathed claws scratched the stone beneath her. "What are you doing?" Squirrelbite hissed, her voice icy.

L oki felt guilty as she seemed on the very edge. He didn't want to loose her trust, but it seemed like that's exactly what had happened. He stepped toward her again, his eyes glowing in the dark. It wasn't his fault that his pelt was as black as the night without stars, and he couldn't change the color even if he wanted to. He continued stepping cautiously toward her, trying to show her that he meant no harm. Finally, he stopped right in front of her, he could feel her whiskers brush against his. When he spoke, his breath came out in a short puff of air, as the caves were cold. "I don't want to hurt you," he tried, hoping she would calm down.

Squirrelbite tried to think of a sharp retort to assure Loki that she was neither afraid nor weak, but for all the emotions swarming her mind, she could not form a comprehensible sentence. Looking carefully at Loki, Squirrelbite see the guilt on his expression and her stomach twisted. It was just as likely that he was manipulating her as it was that he actually felt sorry for her.
"You don't scare me." She finally responded, still on edge but deciding not to push him away. Her wild eyes were narrowed into slits and practically shaking, and she didn't dare take her gaze off of him for a heartbeat.

L oki simply sat back a bit, giving her space. He could tell she was on edge, possibly scared, even though her statement said otherwise. But Loki knew lies, he was the expert in lies, and maybe that's why she didn't trust him. He was cunning, and a professional in manipulation, but he wasn't trying to be sly at the moment. "Hopefully that's true," he ended up saying. It was weird to actually say, since he always wanted cats to fear him. It was their greatest weakness, and his greatest strength. Everywhere, he always seemed to strike terror into the hearts of cats. But not here, and not now.
