L oki met her gaze with an apologetic expression. He wished he could tell her of all his adventures, his brother, his sisters, his battles and the wars they went through, the land covered in frost, the storms and illusions, plus his sister's strange ability, but he couldn't. "It doesn't matter anymore," he said, trying to convince himself more than her.

Swanfrost hesitated. He was obviously hiding whatever he may have wanted to tell her. Was it that bad? "It always matters." She responded, meeting his gaze evenly. "What do you have to lose? Just tell me." She pressed, although her tone wasn't demanding.

L oki blinked, then blinked again, holding his eyes shut for more than a moment. When he opened them, he tried to rid himself of emotions bubbling to the surfuce. Pain, sadness, anger, worries, they were all sitting right on the edge, but he wouldn't let them get passed his mask. He held a well-developed mask, and it wouldn't break now. "Its far from here, far from now."

Swanfrost noticed all the emotions crossing his face, though she didn't feel an ounce of pity for him. She doubted that he would feel any sympathy for her, so in return she felt nothing for him. "That doesn't even make any sense." She blinked.

L oki rolled his eyes. And she wonders why I don't tell her. So instead of saying anything about his home, he turned to a different topic. "All the cats in Fireclan seem to be having kental breakdowns," he commented.

Swanfrost huffed at the change of subject, though decided to roll with it anyways. "Oh yeah? Who?" She questioned, curious.

L oki smiled and looked down at his paws. "Goldy doesn't seem to happy," he said, using Brightwing's nickname. He wondered if Swanfrost knew who he was talking about. Probably not.

"Goldy? Could your nick naming skills be anymore original?" Swanfrost huffed, amused.

L oki laughed, "Yes well, it certainly works. Would you rather me call her stripes?" He made his voice sound completely innocent, which made him sound a bit strange, since usually his voice had the force of a thousand punches behind it.

Swanfrost rolled her eyes. "What's the actual name of 'Goldy'?" She questioned, a mocking tone in her voice when she said his nickname for the mysterious cat he had met.

L oki gave her an extremely amused look, before acting like she had busted down his walls. "You got me. It's Brightwing." He was surprised he actually remembered her real name. He wasn't the best at names.

Swanfrosts face went blank for a few moments. Brightwing was the cat having a mental breakdown? Why? Trying to act casual, she tilted her head as if thinking. "I think I've seen her around once or twice. What did she all say?" This would fail miserably if Brightwing had already mentioned her name to the loner.

L oki laughed. "She said to get lost and never come back." He straight up lied to Swanfrost face, and it came so easily to him that it was a bit creepy. In fact, the things Brightwing said were very important, but he didn't think the white cat needed to know her plans if they didn't even know each other.

Swanfrost couldn't help but looked disappointed. "Are you sure that's all she said? She didn't mention why she was having a 'mental breakdown'?" Swanfrost pressed, her tail tip twitching.

L oki's expression suddenly changed. "You seem to care a lot about this cat. I thought you didn't know her," he pointed out, stating what the white cat had mentioned earlier.
