Troutkit stared at the green shoots outside of the nursery, her green-yellow eyes wide in fascination. Newleaf was here, and she had been wholly unaware of anything green that had been popping up until this beautiful morning. The vast blue sky was cloudless and intimidating, making the insecure she-cat feel even smaller than she currently was. Swiping her tongue around her mouth, the she-cat flattened her ears slightly and eyed the green grass warily.
Was it a symbol of something terrible to come? Or was it a symbol that something new was coming? The paranoid she-cat glared at the grass stubbornly.

"See anything interesting?" Oceanstar inquired as he approached. He'd been keeping an eye on the runnings of the clan for a good portion of the morning and Troutkit in particular had caught his eye. Oceanstar had always held an interest in the raising of the clan's young. He needed to, considering they were the future of Fireclan.
Troutkit had been sitting in the same spot for some time and Oceanstar had finally dredged up enough interest to approach her himself. It was a shame for anyone to have idle paws on such a nice day and he was intent on giving her something to do.

"See anything interesting?"
Automatically, Troutkit flicked her green-yellow eyes upwards to assess the oncoming cat. Blinking slightly at the predominantly black fur of the much larger cat, she chanced a glance upwards even further. The distinctive icy blue gaze of Oceanstar pierced her own green-yellow hues, causing Troutkit to feel slightly embarrassed. Dipping her head in a show of respect, the young kit got to her feet and considered her reply.
"Interesting enough to garner my attention, yes." Troutkit mewed quietly, an unusual sight to see on her. She was generally loud and friendly, but when faced with authority, she became quiet and attentive. Did she need to explain herself? ..Probably not. "Good morning, sir. How are you this morning?"
