SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki rolled his eyes, then closed them as he was instructed to. "Then you better at least give me warning," he answered, his ears perking. He wanted to make sure he could hear her if she ever made a trip up.

"Alright, don't be such a kit." Sky huffed. Whether he knew it or not, that was her warning. With a quick leapt, Sky aimed to knock him straight off the ledge he had rested on. Whether she got him or not, right as her paws touched the ground again she would take off.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki's ears swivel to her voice, and he noticed how it changed as she got closer. To avoid her attack, he sat up quickly and she whizzed past him. He followed her, leaping from the rock and giving chase as she darted away.

Sky smirked as Loki had managed to predict her attack, ears swivelling as his paw steps echoed behind her. Sky took him down the path she knew best, speeding up. She knew she didn't have much more time before he caught up, despite her being fast, he appeared to be faster. Sky would like to say she was smarter. Without any warning Sky lunged onto a tiny ledge on the wall, which only held her back legs. She gracefully pushed off of it, pinpointing his scent and aiming to land straight on his back, claws extended.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki's ears and senses told him that Sky was no longer in front of him. Even if she was quite quiet, one could never be completely silent. He had now picked up on the smallest of noises, scraping of claws, exhales, and the slight bit of wind she created also allowed him to figure where she went. He slowed his pace a bit, allowing for her to attack, because he already had a plan in mind. From what he knew of Sky, she would attack at this point, and she would most likely do it from above.
So when she landed on his back, it was only half a surprise. He felt her claws dig into his shoulders, but with lightning speed, he thrust his momentum forward, allowing for him to do something such as a front flip, and landed on his back.

Sky should have expected Loki to know her attack, and she hated to admit it, but she was taken by surprise. Despite her initial shock as she felt them both flip, she knew she still had time to get away before he hit the ground. But that just wouldn't do. She had a better plan in mind. Sky snaked her arms tightly around his neck, digging her claws in both sides to secure her hold. She did it hard enough to draw blood, but was careful not to seriously wound him. She bite down on his muzzle, pulling back slightly. The air was knocked out of her as she hit the ground, Loki's weight only adding to her loss of breath. Despite this she only held down tighter, her back legs around his stomach to tighten her death grip.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Through the pain, Loki could tell Sky wouldn't let go of him anytime soon. The air had been knocked out of her, and he leaped up onto his paws in a wide stance as he hung onto his back. Blood dripped from each of his shoulders, and he was grateful that her claws just missed his old wound from their first battle. Without much of a thought, which was a bad way to fight, Loki tried to ram his back, and Sky, into the cave wall.

Sky didn't let go. No matter how many times he slammed her into the wall, she clung to him stubbornly. If anything he made it worse for himself; her claws went in deeper, as did her teeth. She was completely breathless, although she found enough strength to rip her claws across his chest. She had almost gone for the theist, until she remembered who she was fighting. Sky then dropped her paws, trying to hook them around his front legs to trip him up.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki, nearly out of breath from slamming into the wall so many times, winced and fell over his paws as Sky tripped him. He had to keep his focus, to clear his mind of everything he was thinking and to focus on the battle. He had become a poor fighter in his time on this land, and he was thankful someone would give him battle training.
As blood oozed from his chest, he nearly wanted to ask why she spared him. Even though Sky was tough, he didn't think she would kill him, though. That would be a little... harsh.
Loki got to his paws quickly and leaped over Sky to land on an outcropping a little ways off the ground. He shook his head, he had to focus, even if he couldn't see. He still had his ears, so he closed his eyes and let out a breath of air, silencing himself. His ears perked in the silence, waiting for the smallest of sounds, a breath, a heartbeat, the brush of fur against stone or the scrap of a claw. If he picked up any sound, it would lead him straight to Sky.

It was nearly impossible for Sky to remain silent. Her ribs ached from being thrown into the wall so many times, and she was sure she had cracked a few. She staggered to her paws, wheezy breaths trembling out of her jaws as she fought to get all of her air back. She almost regretted not killing him. She was weak and vulnerable now, and she would be for a few more minutes at the least. Sky didn't try to make any moves, instead focusing on keeping herself awake. He hadn't spared her head from the solid rock wall.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki eased up as her breath came ragged through the air. He stood up and let out a few sighs to relax himself after the fight. "That doesn't sound comfortable," he nearly teased, pressing his paw to his chest to add pressure. It would slow down the bleeding, and hopefully stop it if he added enough. "I know you're not okay, so I'm not going to ask. But I could lead you somewhere less... cold, if you'd like. I imagine running into a wall so many times would do a number somewhere."

Sky scowled, feeling a burning sense of shame. He would think she was weak now. Scraping her claws across the ground Sky turned, her whiskers twitching. She had planned to head back outside without telling him, although now that she thought about it, she couldn't exactly remember where they were. Whether it was the fact she had gotten too lost in the battle, or that she had just really hit her head hard. Turning back to Loki she forced her breathing to quiet down, tilting her chin in the air pridefully. "Fine, lead the way." She hissed.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY A flicker of a smile played on Loki's lips and he turned and starting padding along the cave, not caring about being quiet anymore. He had naturally soft pawsteps, but they still seemed to echo painfully against the silent cave walls. He was still aware of Sky, however. He never knew if she would suddenly decide to pounce on his back from behind.
They padded for a bit in a relatively flat tunnel, before it widened into a large, room-like cave where they had run around each other in circles. Multiple ledges stuck out from all around the cave, from what Loki remembered. He traced back through the battle, thinking of where he leaped from ledge to ledge, and finally found that the exit was to the right. He turned that way, and as the tunnel sloped up just a bit, he could see light ahead, and the air was already growing warmer. He breathed in, and the breeze no longer smelled stale. It was fresh, and held a tint of rain. It must've drizzled while they were fighting.

Sky padded after him, quickly regaining all of her important senses as her pain subsided. She moved at a quicker pace once the fresh smell of air mixed in with rain hit her nose, passing by Loki with swift strides. She felt a sense of relief as her paws escaped the floor of the cave, her paws dampening as they touched the moist earth. "You're really not a bad fighter." Sky smirked, her tail swishing softly. It wasn't often that she complimented another cat, much less about their ability to fight. Then again, Sky still believed that she could have won if she was forced to continue.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY "Neither are you," Loki said, if if was the smallest bit harshly. His mind had wandered away from her as he looked to the sky. Every once in a while, the sound of water droplets would interrupt the growing silence between the two cats. Suddenly, he looked down at her once more. "But you've only ever fought me in the darkness. In the light, you would be no match." A smile could be heard in his voice, and he was lightly teasing. He knew she would never fight him in the day.
