(( we can just keep this thread rolling until you're named an apprentice @olivefrost ))
Wrenkit was new to this, well everything. The sun, the heat, other cats. Walking. It all seemed like such a struggle and he hadn't even been named an apprentice yet, although the thought of it made his bones tingle with excitement. Who'd his mentor be, what he'd excel at, what he'd utterly fail at. But all of this was many moons away and for the time being he could just relax and at least try to be social and make friends. Positivity was everything... right?
As the brown tabby tom was lost in mind he noticed another cat, one who seemed to be more apprentice aged and much much larger than he was. The whole situation seemed a bit intimidating but he got to his four wobbly paws and continued over to the ginger feline anyway. Stopping right before her he strained to look upwards and mewed, "Erm, hi?" Before he rolled his tiny shoulders a bit to shrug off the awkwardness. "I'm new to this, any pointers?"

Olivekit was eating a mouse under a shaded tree. It was a very nice day, the melody of the chirping birds as beautiful as the sun streaming through the trees. When another cat walked up, she gave a smile. "Hello. You do appear to be new around here. I'm Olivekit, and if you are asking for tips on how to interact with other cats, I am afraid I wouldn't be the best cat to ask," she said, chuckling softly.

A mouse, Wrenkit hadn't noticed that this kit had a mouse upon first glance. This was something he had never had before and something he probably shouldn't have for a little while yet; although it did make his mouth water. Milk was his entire diet at the moment but he knew that would change with time.
"Well, nice to meet you Olivekit," He purred, adding a flick of his tail as he closed his eyes and smiled awkwardly; trying to appear as friendly as possible. What was normal anyways. She had mentioned that if he wanted tips on being social that he shouldn't be asking her so Wrenkit decided he would just sit down and make small talk. Wasn't like he could do much else either way.
"So Olivekit. Soon to be Olivepaw I imagine. Got any warrior names in mind yet?"

Olivekit narrowed her eyes slightly. "It would be good to meet you too," she wanted to retort, "If you could tell me your name." But she didn't because it was a good day and she didn't want to taint such a thing with such bitterness. Rather, she said, "I want my warrior name to be Olivefrost. What about you?" That way she would both learn his name and not sound rude.

(( omg I love the sass ))
Wrenkit smiled, again. Olivefrost was a pretty cool name, if only Wrenkit could come up with something as awesome. Biting his tongue he narrowed his eyes and tapped his paw on the ground. Wren...wing... nah that sounded feminine; Wren... flight.... too normal. Wren... storm? No that just sounded off. He needed help.
"The best I can come up with is Wrenflight and that sounds super cliche... any ideas?"

(I'm working on it. Olivekit's hard because she's bitter and super nice at the same time.)
"Wrenflight? Hmm..." she said, thinking for a while before giving her list of options. "Maybe Wrencall, Wrentear, or Wrenpelt... Maybe Wrentallon or Wrenmask." she shrugged. "Wren is hard to match with anything good I suppose."

All of those could work. It seemed like a lot of name combinations would be alright but nothing really clicked. "I think if anything I'd want Wrenfeather or Wrenfoot. They're not at all feminine and I think I could live my life in good conscience with those names." Wrenkit shrugged, pawing at the ground now at a stone that he had found between his paws.
"Well, any mentors in mind?" He threw another question at the she-cat, attempting to continue the conversation although he didn't look up at her when he spoke this time; his attention drawn on the stone.

Olivekit nodded. "I think I like Wrenfeather better than any of the other one." she said, not adding, "because all the other ones are very very stupid."
"As for my mentor, I don't really know any warriors, so I wouldn't know who would make a good mentor. I just want someone who would push me to be the best warrior I can be." she chuckled quietly, "And, of course, one that can put up with me."

Wrenkit scoffed, looking up from his stone now to make a witty comment, "Yeah, finding one that can deal with your sass that should be a blast." He purred, adding a slight smile to let the orange she-cat know it was more of a joke and he wasn't trying to sound crabby.
"Buttt yeah, I obviously haven't met any warriors yet. Actually, I think you're the first cat I have formally met." And this was true, he hadn't even really talked to his mother yet. Which was a bummer but she had plenty of other responsibilities.

"Less sass, more random and extreme mood changes." she mused, "But yes, that should be a blast" she added sarcastically. "Hmm... I believe you're the second cat I've met. Again, I'm not the best at socializing. The only other cat I've met since joining the clan was Fallkit."

Wrenkit nodded, he knew of the tom; they hadn't talked much but he knew of him. "Aye, best to keep your circle small. Less birthdays to remember. If we celebrate birthdays." He mused, did clan cats really not celebrate birthdays.... ( lol such an inquiry).
"Anyways! There has to be something more interesting to do in this camp then sit around and talk. Talking is for adults and leadership." The brown tabby tom got to his paws again, batting away the stone and then chasing it. Then batting it away again and chasing it. "I mean. We can make a game or climb a tree or... we should climb a tree."

Olivekit let out a disbeleaving chuckle, "Birthdays? Why would we celebrate those?" she asked, "We can't even track the days of a year." She had been trying to stay in a nice mood, but the mention of birthdays brought back memories of her long lost sister. Little did she know the other cat had been adopted into Fireclan while she had been adopted into Treeclan.
"Anyway, trying to be a bit nicer... Sorry, I don't know." she said, truly not able to think of anything nicer to say on the subject of a game or tree climbing, "The queens don't want us climbing trees. They think we might get hurt."

At the mention of the fact that they weren't supposed to be doing it... Wrenkit immediately smiled and responded, "Exactly." before he bolted to the nearest oak tree. It looked easy enough to climb, he assessed every branch, how thick each one was and the distance between each. He had to learn how to climb at some point so why not start early and get a head start.
Extending his tiny kit claws he sunk them into the bark, not launching himself upward, but rather painfully slowly dragging his tiny body up the tree. He had the brains, but he was and would never be athletic. Which was a bummer but brains were good too. After what felt like a decade he had managed to get to the first branch, which he guessed was about 3 feet off the ground. And he was already exhausted, great.
Looking down at Olivekit he mewed, "How's the weather down there?"

Olivekit rolled her eyes as the other cat started climbing the tree, then at Wrenkit's comment she remembered that she never followed the queen's rules. Why start now? She responded to the sarcastic question with, "Same as it is that low I'd assume," before begining climbing the tree. She had never really climbed a tree before, but once before her parents died she had had to climb a cliff with them. It was a very faint memory, but she used it to remember to look for footholds. Simple enough, the bark was sturdy enough to hold the little weight on her body. She picked her way up the tree like this, not stopping until she was a couple of branched higher than Wrenkit.

Wrenkit smiled mischievously as Olivekit began to climb as well. They were Treeclan cats, that's what they were meant to do! Only, to his dismay she began climbing much higher than him, and it had taken enough time and energy for him to get to where he was. Let alone the time and energy he would need to get down again. So his smile slowly faded to a wide open jaw as he watched her ascend.
"Hey no fair! You're like... FOUR moons older than me!" And she was, he was a youngin', but he decided to climb one branch higher before he mewed. "Okay. You win." Adding a dramatic sigh of defeat for effect.
