(( Burr ;; yeeyee, obtained permission let's gooooo )) This was about the time Fadingnight made her rounds, dusk was just beginning to settle into night and the chirps of crickets readily filled the air. Nightfall was about the only good time to go out either way, the midday sun in Fireclan territory was unbearable. Although after Fireclan had recently claimed some of Rockclan's old territory hunting had become much more pleasant. After all, Fading had originally grown up in Treeclan and was used to hunting with cover; there it was all about blending into your surroundings rather than speed. At this current point in time the silver tabby had found her way into a rockier part of the territory. She didn't often times keep track of where she was going but had a decently good sense of direction and never had a hard time finding her way back to the Fireclan camp. But according to the scents around her she was nearly at the border, loner boarders anyways; and it wasn't just the scent of her clan's border patrols that she was picking up. Perking her ears and dropping into a crouch she crept forward, her jaw hanging open and drinking in every scent. Cat, loner specifically. This close to the border? Stalking up to a boulder right on the edge of the territory she peeked around it, noticing a she-cat on the opposite side of the border. Now Fadingnight had never been a good fighter, but the vibes she was picking up off this cat didn't scream hostile. So, with that she stood high on all fours once again and mewed, "Excuse me, bit close to the border aren't we?"

Yawning, Burr curled herself up into a small ball, hoping her scarred eyes would just magically work again and she could look up at the sky. But no... Something like that would never happen. The black she-cat sighed, and was soon to fall asleep when something made her ears prick. Lifting her head, Burr could feel her ears flick every angle imaginable. Sniffing the air, the horribly scarred she-cat could scent another cat, almost the same scent close to her. Almost... Almost about to call out, 'Who's there?' when a female voice sounded behind her. Jumping, Burr looked over to see the stranger. Well... Not look at the she-cat, technically. But face that don't direction. "Who are you?"

Fadingnight was a nocturnal creature to say the least, so her amber gaze had become accustomed to seeing with very little available light. So when the loner's face had turned to meet her there was something peculiar that she did notice immediately. There seemed to be major scarring around her eyes, but it was her eyes instead that were the most interesting. They didn't appear focused, almost milky. Blind? Partially blind? She wondered, but kept her own inquiries to herself.
"Oh no one," She responded, adding a small smirk you could her through her jaws. "I might ask you the same question being this close to the Fireclan border."

"FireClan?" Asked Burr, tilting her head, wishing her sight would come back then so she could see the other cat. "Wha-" She stopped. Who was this cat? What was FireClan? She had never heard of any FireClan when she still lived with her parents. "Is it just you? In this FireClan?"
(Geez... Burr sounds so weird to me!)

Fadingnight snorted almost immediately after the loner had finished speaking. It wasn't like this cat was young and was new to the world or anything based off of all the scars she carried about her pelt. Maybe she wasn't from around here and had recently moved or was merely passing through?
Now her curiosity had peaked and she padded the rest of the way to edge of her own border, sitting just before the Fireclan territory ended and letting her tail snake out behind her. Parting her jaws she mewed, "No, there are dozens of us." Pulling a paw up to her mouth she licked it and pulled it over her head and began again. "Let me guess, you're not from around these parts?"

Dozens? Oh dear, better not mess with them! But, maybe, Burr could mess with a few. When the she-cat asked her a question, Burr slowly meowed, "Not really, I have mainly been hanging around a forest, I am not to sure if I like this place, it's pretty... Open." Burr felt like there was no where safe for her, in the forest it felt like something could pounce on her any second, but this place, she couldn't really hide from anything.

"Well, as long as you hang around these parts. Best be careful, not every clan cat is as docile as me." She laughed, Fadingnight had used to be one of those, always willing to pick a fight. But as she aged she mellowed out and grew more laid-back. Fighting really wasn't her thing.
"Like this," Fadingnight began. "If you stay around these parts it's not only Fireclan that you will have to be worried about but three other clans. We all leave individual scent markers on the edges of our territory." The silver tabby lifted her tail and swayed it over the border where it had been marked hours before. "Whenever you smell that stay clear, unless you want to be crowfood."

"There is three more of these FireClan places?" Burr exclaimed, tilting her head one way. "How do you know which one you are talking about?" Three more FireClan's? How strange were these cats?
"I'm Burr, by the way..." The black she-cat meowed.
(Burr is making me cringe like crazy of her little knowledge of the Clans...)

Wow, this cat really didn't know anything about the area. At all.
Sighing Fadingnight laid down in the damp grass, curling her paws under her chest. It was going to be awhile so she decided it was about time to just lay down and get this over with. "There are three other clans but they aren't all Fireclan. There's Treeclan who lives in the forest, Iceclan who lives in the mountains, and Rockclan." She explained, the four clans all had their own separate territories and definitely didn't get along.
"Well, Burr since I know your name. I'm Fadingnight. But don't go spreading it around I don't need anyone else knowing of my existence."
(( it's kinda funny how much she doesn't know ))

TreeClan lives in the forest, eh? Burr had a feeling that she might have been there, by accident... But then she felt stupid when the she-cat told her the different Clans. Wow, how could she think that three other FireClans? "Wow... I am suprised that there is so many different cats." Burr admitted, because she though she would show weakness if she said, 'I am so sorry that I have so little knowledge of your Clan stuff!'
"Fadingnight?" Burr asked, "That's unusual. How could your mother make a name for you that quickly?"

Now to explaining the naming. When one thought about it, clan life really was 10x more complicated than that of loners, rouges, and even Deathclan. Jeez.
"Well, as a kitten I was Fadingkit. I then moved up once I was about 6 moons of age and was named Fadingpaw as an apprentice. For a few moons afterwards I would train in hunting and fighting by a single mentor until I was ready to be named a warrior, which is where naming got more complicated." She explained, not really feeling sure she should be sharing the ways of clan life with an outsider; but she continued on anyways. "My warrior name was Fadingnight."
She paused for a minute, feeling a bit awkward in sharing the speaking spotlight. "What about you, how'd you get your name?"

"Okay..." Burr murmured, nodding her head a little bit. "But before I get something totally wrong, let me guess, the last part of your names can always be different. Such as... Fadingstar? Or Fadingcloud?"
When Fadingnight asked her how she got her name, Burr lazily flicked up her tail. This is how her mother named her. Even though her fur was long all over her body, her tail was the only thing that was SPIKY and long furred. "My mother said that it kinda looked like a humongous burr clinging onto me." Burr meowed.

Fadingnight nodded, "Yes indeed. I could've been many other things beside Fadingnight. I like to think the suffix of night was chosen for me because I love the night and it's the primary time I'm awake." She laughed a bit, but then her face darkened again as she added, "But that was back in my time in Treeclan when I earned that name."
Brushing away her past from her mind she continued as Burr mentioned how she had been named. Her tail definitely was quite plumy compared to the rest of her body. "I guess that makes sense, it's nice how it's so simplistic while every name I have to remember is extremely complex."

"TreeClan? But isn't this place FireClan?" Burr asked, tilting her head. Could these Clan cats switch Clans all the time? "If you belong to TreeClan why are you protecting FireClan?"
"Are names usually complicated?" The blind she-cat asked, wondering what crazy names these cats came up with.

Fadingnight paused for a minute, trading clans wasn't exactly the best thing to do in the warrior world; in fact it was quite frowned upon. But she did it anyways, you know. You only live once.
"I traded clans, Treeclan was my birth clan. Although trading clans doesn't happen often." She explained, she had family from both sides so it was a little different for her.
Then they were back to the name conversation, of which Fadingnight responded, "To clans the names aren't complicated. But I imagine they are to outsiders."
