Padding along a rotting fence was a tall, elegant black cat, his tail waving behind him slowly. He was watching the odd balls of fluff trapped within this pen, grazing on the tall grass that grew there. He knew they were sheep, from books and stories, but they had had few sheep on Asgard, and he'd never seen one in real life. Though, he hid that he was fascinated, and instead, continued to walk the length of the black fence, looking uninterested. Eventually, he stopped when one of the white fluffs came close and rested its head on the fence, rocking it slightly. Loki cast it a disgusted look as he picked up one paw, steadying himself. "Get away from me, creature," he told it, not unkindly. His brow was furrowed, yet he did not want to be overly mean. And as he wished, the creature left, and Loki lifted his chin to watch it waddle away, his green eyes hooded. He looked quite majestic, but eventually lost interest in the thing, and turned his head away, leaping off the fence in a river-like flow. His paws hit the ground softly, and he continued on, walking away from the ruined farmhouse and paddock of intrapped animals. He was heading toward the meadow, but was intercepted by an object. A sharp stone cut his pawpad, and he looked down with wide eyes to see his blood on the rock, and his pad already bleeding greatly. He furrowed his brow once more, mentally scolding himself for his ignorance. How could he be so blind? He looked over the tall grass for a body of water, any body of water, and found a small puddle a little ways away. He set off toward it in a sort of limp, as he did not use his front, right paw. Once he reached the puddle, he set his paw in it and watched as the blood swirled away, turning the puny body of water red. Then, he removed his paw and shook it off, flipping water everywhere. After this, he set his paw down on the ground and added pressure to it by leaving against it. He winced, as it hurt greatly, but he hoped it would stop bleeding. Suddenly, through his blurry vision, he saw a large, musclar cat walking toward him. Though, he could not exactly see clearly, and as he watched it near, it felt as if the world was spinning. Suddenly, his eyes rolled back in his head, and he fell into the bloody water. © to Vel

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loud, broken cries pierced the sky, like heavy thunder in the middle of a raging storm. The Warrior's breathing quickened as he found himself surrounded by flames, his fur drenched in sweat. It was only a second before he realised what exactly was happening, and in a rush, he lifted up onto his back paws and threw all of his weight onto a burning door; knocking it down with ease. His eyes darted left and right down the halls, finding nothing but growing fire decorating the golden walls. Cursing as his flesh burned with every pawstep, he powered forward, running to the chambers of his parents.
The doors were swung open already, and as he entered the room, his eyes swelled with tears when he beheld the site before him. There, laying on the burning floor, were his parents side by side. He rushed to them, pressing an ear to his father's chest to feel for a pulse, nothing. His breath caught when he shook him, the cat only turning over to reveal a pelt of burnt marks, still unconscious. Grayfang bit his lips so hard they bled, but he couldn't stay in there forever.
His mother was next, a faint heartbeat could barely be heard. He almost sobbed in relief, wasting no time to heave her over his back, saving the room as quick as possible without having to deal with the damage of finding his father, dead.
Pausing at his sisters room, he could see that it was evacuated, no one nor any bodies could be seen. He sent a small prayer of thanks to the gods, continuing on to his brothers room. By this time, he was coughing uncontrollably, though he still carried on. The entrance was blocked by fallen debris, and the cries of two familiar voices could be heard on the other side. Grayfang yelled the loudest he ever did, calling out to his siblings in desperation. A raspy voice answered, a small green light glowing throughout all the burning red. Grayfang screamed, laying Featherbreeze gently on the ground before trying to burst in.
After a while, he was begged to stop, his siblings convincing him there was no way through the door. Tears stung his eyes, the smoke rising above him. They told him to leave, but he refused. He wouldn't leave without them - and it was impossible for them to leave. So; he curled up next to the door, protecting his mother's body and shielding her from the fire. He whispered to Willowsong and Ravenblaze, told them how much he loved them, and silently let the flames take over him.
Thor woke up in a sweat, panting heavily when he saw he was safe in the forest, not back home on the day of that dreadful fire. The one that ultimately divided his family, and instead of them making it out, all five of them died that very day. It had been a nightmare plaguing Thor, torturing him and taunting that he wouldn't see Loki and Cali again. The warrior turned onto his back, staring up at the stars, and he did nothing to stop the tears from coming.
It was later in the day, the tomcat having traveled a number of hours to reach the farm, which seemed to be on the other side of the forest from when he had first arrived back here. He was walking along the fields beside the tall human building, hoping that he would find either Calista or Loki, preferably both.
He had been searching a while when he had finally given up, turning to look elsewhere. That had been until, however, he spotted a black cat in the near distance. It seemed dazed, confused, so he decided to see what was wrong with it - if it was okay.
The animal collapsed the same time the scent of blood and lotus reached him, sending the warrior immediately into a sprint. His eyes watered when he noticed his brother, though he didn't waste much time with emotions and quickly began to assist him.
"Loki." He called, roughly shaking his brother in an attempt to awaken him. "Brother!"
It all seemed so... so unrealistic, thought the tom. So unbelievable. He searched for any wounds his brother could have suffered from, finding the spot soon enough. His paw had a deep cut in it, and it was still bleeding. Thor frantically looked for something to bandage it, something to disinfect it - his eyes landing on suitable thick-looking leaves that could wrap around his paw.
He ran and gathered them, ripping them from it's stem and racing back to Loki, his dear brother, wrapping the leaves tightly as he could against the cut. A growing tree was near them, so he carried Loki and set him beside it, laying his back paws on a rock to get the blood to flow his head and wake him up.
"Brother.." He whispered, standing behind his head and leaning over him. "Dear gods please wake up."
( gosh that is one gorgeous template )
(rushed and very long I'll be editing it so it's nice I was just trying to hurry up and get it out here)

Loki had no conciousness to know what was happening, but when his eyes finally opened to little slits, the first thing he saw was his brother, right in his face. He snapped his head back, his eyes wide, and hit it on Thor's legs, then winced as both his head hurt, and his paw. He took one glance at his paw, and the leaves wrapped around it, before he fully regained his head and leaped up, his green eyes doubtful and relieved at the same time. However, the words that slipped from his mouth were, "You're such a fool." His eyes were cold and heartless, up until he stepped forward, forgetting the pain in his paw, and put his forehead against his brother's, closing his eyes. He wasn't always one for affection, and most thought he couldn't feel anything but hatred and sadness, but here, his joy was so overwhelming, even he couldn't hide it. When Loki spoke, his accent elegant and lovely, it was from his heart, something you might not find come from him ever again. "It was not the same without you here." He then took a large step back, his green eyes scanning his older brother. "Where did you go?" He then let out a wince, both from his paw and from his memory of what happened in Asgard when they went back. "I guess we both have our stories to tell, so maybe I should tell mine now, to fill in the gaps." Loki then sat down and proceeded to tell his brother what had happened when the ice giants were brought back to Asgard. "Though you already know this, Shadowbite let the giants back into Asgard, trying to stop us as best he could. The battle waged on, but they proved they could take revenge, and they took it for Laufey's death. They brought me back to their vile land and caged me in the deepest, coldest regions of their foul land, torturing me. I had not seen the light of the day for months as the ice slowly killed me. They buried it in my skin, huge icicles that slowly got larger each day, all pointing to my heart. Each day, I could feel them creep closer, and it was a surprise that I did not bleed out there, in that land, as my blood dripped down the frozen ice. Eventually, I tricked one into coming very close to where I was, where then I killed him, and when he fell on the ice, it broke. In this way, I was able to escape through the city, as you know, I am an ice giant, and being in the cold for that long, I began to look like one. I eventually found a way back to Midgard, and when I returned, I picked my way back to this place here, only to find, you'd disappeared..." 488 this is actually trash © to Vel

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY The fluttering of Loki's eyes thrilled Thor, his laughter filled with genuine happiness. He waited for his brother to rise completely, still worried about his paw, though breathed a sigh of relief when their foreheads met. "And you're an idiot." He countered, pulling back to take one last look at the affection in his littermates eyes, the type that was almost never present - and he was sure he wouldn't see again for a long while. Thor listened with a furrowed brow as Loki proceeded to inform him on his side of the story, nodding and murmuring words at different parts of the story. His blood, however, boiled when it was revealed to him the torture those bastard ice giants put Loki through. The warrior forced himself to remain calm, and once Loki trailed off and ended his story, Thor began his own. "When they took you and I couldn't stop them; I was too caught up in despair and anger to notice my vulnerability. I soon went on a blind rampage - and they easily took control of me and brought me to the dungeons." He admitted his defeat nervously, though continued on anyway. "They tortured me as well, used our powers combined against me, searched for information. What information they searched for, I never knew. I blocked it out and waited for the right moment to attack. And attack I did, and the girl - she was powerless without Shadowbite. She gave her powers back and was banished, never to return. I stayed a while, strengthening myself and my city, soon handing over power to Lady Sif and The Warrior's Three. I can trust them all, to make the right decisions. "They were extremely happy and honored, and promised me well. I left our powers there, in a place where no one can find. If we ever wish to return, they'll be waiting for us along with our friends, who pledge to help us in any time of need. We are always welcomed there brother. Our names are cleared, and our friends told me to say hello. Sif too, she says she misses threatening you. It was quite fun, and she hopes we can all be together again one day. At another feast, like how it used to be." lol no this is actual trash haha

Loki listened to his brother, just as his brother had done for him, yet as he went through his story, Loki's eyes turned to trail the ground. He had forgotten about the pain in his paw, and to him, it had nearly become non-existent. However, his eyes flicked back to Thor with a slight furrow as he said, 'my city,' and then he went on to tell how he handed power over to Sif and the other Warriors Three. Loki didn't know how he felt about this statement, until Thor went on to tell of how he left their powers there, and how their names had been cleared. Finally, he finished with the thought of Sif missing threatening him. Loki tilted his head, his eyes holding almost no emotion. He said his next words in a sort of singsongy way. "It will never be as it was. My name will never be cleared, everyone will always talk of how I'm mischievous, I play with trickery, and I do what I want. That memory will always remain, no matter what I do. No one trusts me, and I don't expect them to. You shouldn't. "Though I sometimes wish we could return to what it used to be." 208 © to Vel

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Thor's eyes shone in anger at his brother's statement, the continuous blaming himself annoying the older brother. "Must you always be so pessimistic?"
He went on to wish for the past, something the warrior hadn't truly wished for in a long time. They had come a ways from the immature children they used to be, and although their life seemed to be easier when the light shone brightly and the heat of the day was just perfect, Thor had learned that - it is what it is, and it wouldn't be anything other than that.
Thor was quiet a moment before continuing, his deep blue eyes trained, unwaveringly, onto his brother's glowing green ones. "Stop this nonsense Loki. No matter what you do and no matter what yo u say, you are my brother, nothing will change that."

shake me Calista bit her lip. The small kitten was asleep now, but he had been injured and needed to stay off his leg for a while. She needed to get some herbs while he was asleep anyway, but she wasn't sure how safe it was to leave a sleeping, defenseless cat in the middle of the plains. After a few moments of fretting, she decided that her den was hidden enough. What would happen if he woke up and went looking for her was another thing, but he had had a few poppy seeds so he should be asleep for a while. It was a few moments still before she acctually left, making sure he had food and water in was he did wake up.
From what she had seen, the injury was just from tripping and not the fall down the mountain, so the sprain in the leg was the main issue to deal with. She was certain there were also some cuts and scratches so she got the marigold first. And also grabbed some cobwebs, which she had always used for her den. She had wrapped what she had in a few large leaves, then went off to find something to help the sprain. Of course, poppy would always work, but she wanted something a bit more permanent.
Cali had to search for a while before she finally found the right herbs in the grazing fields. Of course, the sheep had nearly trampled her while she got it, but she managed to get out unharmed with the herbs. Adding them to her bundle and tying it shut, Cali began to follow a river downstream when she came across her brother. No, not just her brother, her brothers. Thor was back.
Cali stood in the background for a while not making a sound before she said, "You sound a lot like I did the last time I saw Loki." She was very conflicted on her emotions about Thor being back, bit she wasn't going to let any of them, good or bad, get to her. "And you are both fools. Can't you smell? The air smells of blood and infection," she said, rolling her eyes. The infection was slight, yes, but it was still there and her marigold was clearly the only in the area. She shook her head slightly and placed her herb bundle on the ground. She had grabbed a little extra of anything just in case, and she separated out as much marigold and cobwebs as she was willing to spare. Yeah, if he passed out it's most likely infected. Plus if her covered it in dirt it's most likely infected. ♡[googlefont="Pinyon Script"]

Loki noticed the sudden anger in Thor's eyes, and his ears flattened in the slightest at his brother's harsh words. After the words, a silence followed, driving the dagger deeper, and Loki had a sense of guilt to him, but tried his hardest to block it out. Then came more words, words that stung, words he'd rather not respond to. However, through the following silence came a familiar voice, a voice as sing songy as an angel, and when Loki turned his face, he spotted his sister padding toward them. Hmm great, two angery siblings, just what Loki needed to deal with at this moment. He flinched a little as she called them fools, it felt sharper than it normally would. He lifted his covered paw, leaning back away from her for some reason, but finally, he took the leaf off with his teeth and held his pawpad to her, showing her the bloody mess covered in dirt. "Then if you can, fix it," he told her. It was meant to sound harsher than it came out, but the way it came out almost sounded like a monotone plea, and he scolded himself internally. He was soft, he always had been. 203 welcome leesee :3 © to Vel

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY When Thor noticed his sister approaching them casually, he did nothing to greet her, a simple twitch of his ear the only indication he had recognized her. He watched with a silent tongue as Calista tended to Loki's wound, the warrior disappointed as the stubborn she-cat said nothing about obvious matter present. A smirk played itself out onto Thor's lips at his littermates' unintentional plea, the male wishing things would clear up between the three. The tension in the air was high, sending the tom into all sorts of unpleasantness. "Are you very well, Calista?" Rumbled the words deep from his throat, accent sounding thicker than usual in this awkwardness. It seemed as if he conversed with a stranger over a sister, and he inwardly cursed himself for it. i threw a boy in the well / don't ask me I'll never tell I will regret this in hell / but he was in my way -eurus holmes 2k17

shake me Calista considered the question, or what she considered a question, before nodding. "That I can." she responded, her voice a bit softer. It was a s mall wound in the sense that it fit on the paw. It was also only slightly infected too. "First wash it though." she instructed, motioning to the river. He had probably already washed it, but it was covered in dirt now, so it would probably just get re-infected if she did use the marigold to disinfect it.
"Yes, I am well enough." she responded to Thor, not turning her gaze to look at him. She was worried that if she did it would all become to real. A lot more than just her was on the line at this point though, and she didn't want to risk going over the edge. I have probably put to much effort into studying herbs...

Cali only took a glance at Loki's paw before he was ordered to wash it in the river. He hesitated for a second, though, as then Thor asked a question. It was simple, though Cali's response sounded slightly offended, and Loki knew the reason behind it. Their older brother had literally left. Yet, Loki could also understand why he left, and so he had no reason to be angry, except just to be angry with his brother in general. Loki cast a quick glance to Thor, before he stood and starting his limping route down to the river, using his right, front paw, but barely putting any pressure on it. It hurt, but the pain was minimal compared to what was inside. The pain Loki felt inside swirled like dark stormclouds, blocking out the sun, or perhaps in Loki's case, the moon. When he reached the river, he dipped his paw in the rushing water, it coming far to close to the rest of his body than for his liking, though he did know how to swim. He just... didn't think he could swim in a river, especially because the only thing he'd really swum in was an ocean. 201 lol loki's like 'i'm outta here' also ppl talking i can't concentrate © to Vel

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY The warrior turned from his now leaving brother to stare at the mountains in the far distance, pointed tops decorating the clear blue sky. He spoke uniformly, keeping his speech short and to the point. "These last few moons my time has been spent restoring SunClan to it's former glory. The traitors have been banished, hope has returned, and the throne had been claimed by a trustworthy force. Or, four - trustworthy forces." His eyes flashed with a sudden grief, the mighty warrior was of course glad to be back on Midgard; but he missed his home. He missed his friends. He would return again someday, but he first had to fasten all loose ties down on Midgard.

shake me Calista shook her head, looking at the ground rather than Thor as she spoke. "By the nine realms you really are to arrogant to see, aren't you. Never mind. It doesn't matter. Thor, I don't care where you were, and I don't care where you are now, and you should be glad for that, because father didn't extend me the same curtesy. For what I care, your buisness is yours to deal with, not mine." she said masking the venom in her voice at her father's reaction when she left. Of course, she couldn't straight up tell Thor that, if she did she would have to tell the truth surrounding her former "death" and her life was already complicated enough without having to remember and explain that. "I know part of the reason you came here was probably some stupid task to make things 'right' between us, but don't bother. I have my own life and it doesn't revolve around you at all anymore." she told Thor, loosing a breath as she told what was probably the biggest lie in her life. In truth, most of her actions were at least partially based off of the whole issue with Thor's leaving, but she didn't want Thor to know that. She didn't want Thor to deal with knowing how much he hurt her. She didn't want him to think that completely destroying her mentally was w wrong, because it was what she deserved. After everything she had done... she didn't deserve to be there, she deserved to be in Hel. Then again, she had tried that once and it had somehow wound up with her gaining the title of queen of hel. No, what she deserved was to go back to heaven where a bunch of angels that hated her were waiting. She didn't say anything else as she waited for Loki to return, preparing a marigold poltace for his paw. Well... Calista surprises me once again. Oh yeah, and her history just got a lot more complicated. @thor ♡[googlefont="Pinyon Script"]

When Loki finally returned to the two, he could tell something was off, but that wasn't exactly unusual. No, it was the silence in the air that intrigued the black tom, and he knew instantly words had been exchanged. Words, words that couldn't be taken back. Strong words, hitting you harder that the hardest blow of a hammer, or the blade of a knife. Walking back to them, he felt as if he was walking to a strange death trap, yet they were all stuck in it. Loki sat down next to his siblings and held out his paw once more, giving them both a moderately long glance. He was trying to read their facial expressions, though they weren't exactly the hardest. Thor's eyes flashed with grief, while Cali's seemed a mix. Pain, loss, regret maybe? It was all the things Loki had felt, and still feels sometimes. He just couldn't tell them that, because he knew they'd push him away. Also, that wasn't something unusual. 168 i dont even know what's going on here © to Vel

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY "I came here searching for my brother, who I'd thought died in battle. Died protecting our homeland, while you tried to keep us away so your childhood crush could rule SunClan. You're a selfish spoiled brat, and if I could have avoided you, I would have. Not one world revolves around you child, so wake up and pay attention." The fury in his words was bright as SunClan, the tom's eyes narrowed angrily. His gaze swept to the side when he noticed Loki had returned, eyeing the both of them hesitantly. The Asgardian warrior wished he could leave, though refrained from doing so - for what reason, he did not know. He cleared his throat, waiting for the moment to leave from Calista's glare.if you're confused and you know it clap your hands *clap clap*
