(The thread for the most part is for Kot ; but anyone is free to join)
Unity had never ventured this far before. So why had she? It was simple. She was a loner, so therefor she had nothing better to do with her life. But then there was also the fact it was more than a great idea to get a rough feel for the land of which she called home. So, yeah. Here she was, on this scored earth that was basically frying her paw pads with each step she took. Not to mention she had been walking for what felt like hours ... even though it was more like 20 minutes.
It was at this point that she heard the sound of rushing water, and like any cat she followed it. Thirst making her throat crack. Only as the river came into view she was met with flashbacks, as if some lost void in her mind had just broke open. A white, gray, and black kit was being washed down the white water. Screaming for help until the water sucked away her cries. More flashbacks... who cats watching helplessly from some oddly familiar ledge... one running down the cliff until he lost sight of her, the time of which he cries at stopped. He must of thought her dead.
Gasping for breath she pulled herself back into reality. Looking back down at the water and shivering all the same. Yet she made her way down, feeling every paw-hold before she would trust it with her weight.

Kot panted silently from his snug little hiding place in a tight nook he located, a small opening in the rocky wall that allowed him some shelter from the deadly heat of the day. He'd made his way here to investigate the lives of the locals, being the curious wanderer he was, and found himself regretting it a little. His black pelt attracted heat, and on top of that his fur was thick. He was far better built for the cold weather than the arid, boiling terrain he'd ended up in, but it was his own fault so he didn't get too angry about it. Then, from below the ledge his perch was situated on, his keen ears flicked as a sharp gasp pierced his senses. Someone else was around? The white of his fangs broke through the darkness of the hole as his maw parted in a smile. So the journey wasn't all for naught. That was a comforting thought. He crawled out of the niche and peered downwards, pupils narrowing as the light made contact with his sapphire eyes. Kot's whiskers twitched in surprise when he saw a familiar pelt positioned on a river bank. Well, that certainly wasn't what he was expecting, but seeing another cat was still a relief. He jumped onto a lower ledge and then onto the ground, slowly padding over to her. "Nice to see a familiar face, Unity," he purred in greeting. "What brings you to this savage place, hm?"

She had reached the river bank and was bowing down, just about to take a lap of the shining liquid when a voice behind her nearly startled her into it. Spinning around with her fur shooting out every side of her she laid her silver gaze on a black tom, with familiar sapphire eyes.
"Kot, you mouse-brain. Could've warned me." Eyes beginning to soften again as her pelt flatted. "And can't a cat move around for once?"
She didn't think it was any use telling him what had happened to her here, no one really cared much about another's past so she stayed where she was and now turned back to the water. Taking a much needed drink before she turned back to the Deathclan cat.
"Now, what about you. What brings you out of Deathclan?"

Kot laughed gently at her startled reaction to his greeting, eyes twinkling with amusement. "I could've warned you, yes," he agreed, smirking at her. His whiskers quivered. "It's fine for you to travel, of course. I just didn't expect to see you here, of all places, where it's hot enough to singe your whiskers off." He looked around distastefully. "I came out here just to see what it was like, and how the natives lived." He looked back at her, huffing in mild irritation. "I regret it." He took a quick drink from the river, the water incredibly refreshing on his dry tongue, and then sat down, black pelt shining under the harsh glow of the sun. "I let my curiosity get the better of me far too often, that much I'm willing to admit." He lifted a paw and licked the sore pads as he waited for her to respond.

Unity nodded, looking around the territory and wondering how anyone could ever live here. There was of course the glint of fish swimming effortlessly through the current. Their silver bodies mimicking the color of her eyes. "Well, at least these 'natives' had a source of fresh water and an astounding food population."
She wondered how they would have survived during the winter, when the river may have frozen over in the coldest parts of the month. Unity herself despised the coldest months, she was young yes but not that young.
"But yeah, curiosity is both a bad and a good thing," The odd tortoiseshell replied to his second statement. "It had us meet right?" She turned her head made sure she caught his gaze.

Kot met her silver gaze, a small chuckle leaving his throat. "Mhm, you indeed have a point," he admitted in response to her question, his black tail flicking. Then he looked back into the river. "It leads me to meet many interesting cats." His solid coal-coloured pelt rippled as he stretched out his legs, opening his jaw wide in a yawn. Then he resumed his sitting position, swiping his tongue over his lips as he eyed the fish swimming swiftly through the rushing river. "Can you fish?" He asked before lashing out with one paw, snagging a fish on his outstretched claws and tossing it onto the ground beside him, watching it flail about helplessly. "They're funny animals, aren't they? Useless once they're out of the water."

No, indeed she had never fished. Up until now she had never thought of trying. "I never learned." She mewed, watching as he almost effortlessly flung one from the water and onto the dusty shore. Unity wondered how he had managed to snag the fish, it looked so armored with all the silver scales. Not to mention as slippery as it was.
Feeling slightly bad for it she got up and padded over to it, holding down its tail then moving her paw slowly up to its head. As soon as she had a good hold she let it flop once more before she smashed it back into the ground, somehow killing it instantly. A wave of relief washed over her and she returned to the black tom, not showing a sign of difference on her face. The body of the dead fish laying behind her, a trickle of blood starting from its nose.
"Mind teaching me a thing or two?"

Kot watched her kill the fish. Did she fell guilty that he'd left it to suffer there? Interesting. Then he looked back at her. "I don't mind teaching you. It's hard at first, but once you get the hang of it it's fairly easy." He turned back to face the river. "First, you have to make sure you aren't casting a shadow over the water. That will scare the fish off. Try to find a spot where you can look in without your shadow going over the water." Where he was currently sitting, his shadow was positioned on the ground beside him rather than over top of the flowing water. "Then you sit and wait until one swims past. You have to be patient, sometimes it will be a while until you see one." He lifted a paw in preparation and waited, the tip of his tail flicking back and forth as he gazed calmly into the glittering water. "Then, once you see one, you have to act quick. Put your paw into the water and try to hook it by the gills, or pierce it's skin with your claws. Watch closely." He suddenly reached into the water and caught one, hauling it out of the river and onto the bank, killing it with his fangs. His movements were fast and precise, showing experience. "Alright, now it's your turn."

Unity watched intently, her eyes staring directly at his paw and waiting for it to make a movement. From there she followed the movement, silver eyes calculating the speeds and just how much he bent into the catch. She figured once you had a hold of the fish it didn't matter much whether your shadow cast over the water or not.
As she unsheathed her claws they glinted in the sun, from barely ever being used. When she hunted she mostly used her teeth to finish off the prey, so using her claws was a whole new ball game.
The loner sat there and she waited, and waited, and waited. Her patience test was not going well and she was beginning to move about in her seat. Switching positions of her hind legs and paws. Until she finally focused on one coming close enough that she would be able to reach it. Without further waiting she struck, her claws going directly under the fish's gills but at the same time her opposite paw slipped into the water. Luckily enough for her she had only fallen in far enough for her chest and neck her to get damp. But she had caught the fish.
Throwing it on the dry ground she huddled over it and bit it the same way Kot had, looking up to the tom for some sort of approval.

Kot watched her movements closely, scrutinizing them so he could figure out where she needed help. He winced as she fell forwards into the water, but he didn't comment on it, because she seemed to be alright. Plus, she did manage to catch the fish. When Unity gazed up at him, waiting for some form of approval, he nodded to her. "That was good, for your first try." He looked back at the water. "You have to stay calm while you're waiting, you were shifting about quite a bit. Also, make sure you have a good grip on the ground before you strike, else you'll likely fall in again." He allowed himself to chuckle a bit. "Want to give it another shot?"

Unity shook her head and drove her attention to the masses of canyon above her and basically everywhere around her. She wanted to see everything, move about everywhere and make a map of every land with her mind.
"I would rather... " The grey and white tortoiseshell paused, thinking for just the right words to spit out on this occasion. "Nah Kot, I would rather take on an adventure."
She had never been one for sitting around and wasting time. But first off she wanted to make a meal of her catch, not that she particularly liked fish but it was the first thing she had actually caught in awhile. "But first," Unity started, grabbing the fish in her jaws and finding a shaded area where a rock overhang was located. "But first we eat."

Kot's eyes glinted at her words, watching her gaze longingly at the canyons that towered around them. "I see. I'm up for that, I haven't explored much yet," he agreed. "I'm rather curious what we might find around here other than deathly heat, burning rocks, and fish." He lifted one up by the tail, his fangs just barely piercing the thin skin, and followed her gaze to the overhang. He walked over to it, the fish gently hitting against his chest with each step he took. He padded into the shadows with a muffled sigh and set the fish down. He hadn't eaten yet that day, so he was looking forward to the meal. He quite liked fish, though he preferred forest food. He crouched over and tucked his fangs into the somewhat slimy flesh of the water-dwelling animal, ripping off a chunk and swallowing it. "Been a while since I ate fish..." He noted, mostly talking to himself.

Unity Unity followed the black tom, tracing each of his steps with one of her own. The fish was for sure slimy, and something she had never really tasted nor eaten before. So for the black, gray and white young female this was all new.
Setting down across from the tom with her tail flowing freely in and out of the shadows she took a bite of fish, somewhat cringing as it seemingly 'slid' down her throat.
"It's not... terrible." She mewed, shaking her head and making some weird motions with her tongue. Although she continued to eat it.
"So Kot I was thinking," She mewed between mouthfuls of fish. "If we go up that there ledge," She explained, motioning with a free paw to where she was talking about. "I think there are some caves." there are two kinds of people in the world; those who look to the future, and those who look to the past. nette of gs

Kot resisted the urge to laugh at the obvious unpleasantness Untiy seemed to be feeling as she ate the slimy, scaled creature. Vibrant blue eyes showed his amusement at her distaste, though. Then he pushed the humour aside to turn his gaze towards the area she gestured at. "Caves? Sounds interesting. I'm up for that," he agreed after he swallowed the last mouthful of his meal, pushing aside a skeleton that still had a few pieces of flesh remaining here and there. "It's likely cool in there, at the least. Perhaps we'll see something of interest."

Unity She nodded, taking another bite and finishing it off as Kot had. Normally she would have thrown her leftovers in some sort of bush or away from walking paths. But there were no bushes or any types of plants here to begin with.
Getting to her paws she mewed, "Shall we?" Before she start on her upward trek. Unity was at least semi good at jumping, just due to her muscular set female figure. She was agile, and found her fighting attempts to be better than her hunting. For this canyon jumping required twisting and turning and all around issues.
Turning her head around her shoulders on a stable ledge she looked down to where the black tom was located and mewed, "You okay down there?" Her voice echoing with a twinge of humor. there are two kinds of people in the world; those who look to the future, and those who look to the past. nette of gs
