Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do. I'm half-crazy all for the love of you. It wont be a stylish marriage, I can't afford a carriage. But you'll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two. Each new apprentice was rather exciting; even more so since he knew nothing about Deerpaw. He hadn't even fully decided how to train his new little underling, not until he could get a measure of their personality. He sat with his tail twitching as the sun rose, waiting for Deerpaw to wake and find him.

Deerpaw was up the sun, per usual. She preferred mornings to nights; even if the night was enchanting the peaceful quiet mornings had was always a pleasant thing for the she-cat to wake up too. Besides, she had always though the singing of a morning bird was much more enjoyable than the dull hum of a cricket. Despite being up early, the newly-apprentice she-cat had taken to lying in her nest, enjoying the one time of day that she allowed herself to be lazy. Once the morning mist began to disperse she took to grooming her pelt, wanting it to be pristine before she started her day; even if it would likely get soiled later. By the time Deerpaw exited the apprentice's den her mentor was already waiting for her. Smiling cheerfully, she padded over to her mentor, carefully concealing her burning excitement with the stout elegance she self-expected of herself. Poised but not rigid, she gave a gentle nod in her mentor's direction. "Good morning," she mewed, amber eyes gleaming in anticipation despite her composed appearance, "I hope I haven't kept you waiting," holding her tongue, the she-cat refrained from saying more, knowing that she was likely to go off on a questioning tangent otherwise.

Jackalfrost smiled as Deerpaw appeared, brushing her concerns aside with a wave of his tail. "Not at all. Watching the sunrise is quite a peaceful activity, I don't mind it." Standing, he rolled out his shoulders with a muffled groan. Despite the truth in his words he had been sitting beside the entrance for quite a while, and they'd stiffened up. "Are you looking forward to your first adventure out of the camp?" He inquired curiously, wondering if this was indeed her first time. After all, he'd snuck out once as a kit himself. Feeling a little impatient just at the thought of it, he indicated the camp entrance with his tail and began drifting towards it.

Deerpaw nodded, relieved that she hadn't bothering her mentor by being tardy. The brown-and-cream she-cat cast a glance towards the camp entrance as the older tom questioned her, "Of course," she answered, not taking her eyes off the entrance until Jackalfrost started moving. Silently she followed, anxious to get her first glimpse of the world beyond the camp walls.

The apparent nerves he was witnessing were normal, though seemed at odds with the mental picture he had already created of the apprentice. Honestly, he'd formulated her in his mind as a talkative she-cat, or at least one that excelled at questions. Then again, it was refreshing to be proven wrong, though the common silences did serve to highlight his own rather awkward personality. He strode out of the camp, nodding mindlessly at Deerpaw's obvious answer. "Then we'll tour the territory first." He set off along the camp wall, sniffing the air. At least the walk would be a good way to gauge Deerpaw's fitness.

Deerpaw nodded, following dutifully behind her mentor, trying to hold back the sea of questions she had. Still, the brown-and-cream she-cat couldn't help but ask a few. "Will that mean we get to go by the borders?" she inquired, although she was almost certain the answer was 'yes', "which clan's do we border again? I don't think anyone every told me; although I assume one of them would have to be TreeClan, since we invaded them once," she reasoned, holding herself back from rambling on the topic more. She had a feeling they're other border was IceClan, but the apprentice wasn't completely sure.
