Naturepaw took a deep breath and padded into the Apprentices' Den. She couldn't believe she was finally here! Soon, she would start her training to become a warrior and defend her clan. But for now, she would just stick around with the other apprentices and train. Well, since I'll be staying here a while, I should at least make my new nest, she thought. Naturepaw looked around at the other apprentices to see any familiar faces. She shrugged. Oh well. I'll just make my nest alone. Naturepaw began to gather some moss and form it into a comfy nest. She decided to make it near a tree and some rocks. It was pretty secluded compared to the other nests, but she didn't mind. She had shelter and friends and food and a clan. She didn't need to be surrounded by everyone else. Still, Naturepaw thought, it'd be nice if I could find some of my friends from the nursery.

"Hello!" came the cheerful voice of a much older apprentice.

Stormpaw padded into the apprentice's den and saw two apprentices talking. "Hello," she mewed, hoping she wasn't interrupting a conversation. "I'm Stormpaw. What's your names?"

"I-I'm Shiverpaw." The grey-and-white tom dipped his head.

Naturepaw turned to see that two apprentices came up to her. She smiled, happy to know that she was not unnoticed here. "Nice to meet you, Stormpaw, Shiverpaw. I'm Naturepaw. I was just setting up my nest." As the tom dipped his head, Nature decided to dip hers in return. "While I'm thinking about it, which mentors did you get?" she asked, sitting down in front of her unfinished nest. 'Building a nest is so boring,' she thought. 'I'll just finish it later...'

"Icet-talon," Shiverpaw said. "We don't train much."

Naturepaw ignored Shiverwind's stutter. It didn't matter if he had a problem speaking. She didn't have a problem being his friend. She nodded. "Ah. I have Thornfrost. We train pretty frequently. I think he's a pretty good mentor," Nature replied with a smile.

"T-that's nice," Shiverwind mewed brightly. "It's best that apprentices like their men-n-ntor."

Naturepaw nodded. "True. Very true. I'd be miserable if I hated my mentor," she replied. "So, you've already had your ceremony, right? How's it like to be a warrior? It's it alot of fun?" she asked, excitement filling her eyes. As much as Naturepaw loved being an apprentice, she almost couldn't wait to become a warrior. Still, that was a little ways off.

Naturepaw nodded. Then, she grinned. "Well, I want to go and see all the clans...I've had territory training and everything, but I want more than that. I want to go and actually see the other clans. Even Rock Clan...a little," she replied, her face scrunching up as if she smelled something foul. "I'm just glad we beat them and got some more hunting grounds, for now anyway." Naturepaw sat in silence for a moment. When she realized she had become a bit lost in thought, Naturepaw looked back to Shiverwind. "So...what do you wanna do now?" she asked, wanting to get off the topic of war now.

"D-d-dunno." His tail-tip flicked. "It's crazy, but one t-t-time I wanted to see twolegs.. for a bit."

Naturepaw was taken aback by this. Really? He wants to see twolegs? She had always been warned not to go near twolegs: they were dangerous; they could capture you or trap you in one of their nets if you weren't careful. She didn't understand why he would want to, but Naturepaw held back her surprise so he wouldn't feel embarrassed. However, she couldn't resist her curiosity. "Why?" she simply asked, cocking her head slightly to side as she always did whenever she was curious.

"Well..." he looked away, "I just thought it'd be nice to see what they did.."

Naturepaw nodded, hoping she didn't hurt his feelings. She was just curious was all. I guess my curiosity goes too far sometimes, she thought. Finally she said, "I understand why you're curious about them. Even though I've always been warned to never go near them, I can't help but feel a little curiosity, too." The words came out and Naturepaw didn't even realize she was just as curious as he about twolegs was until now. "Maybe one day we'll get to see them, but hopefully, they won't see us. Can you imagine what they would do if they found all of us here?" The thought was scary to Naturepaw. As much as she wanted to get at least a glimpse of the twolegs, it would definitely not be good to have them find Ice Clan - or any of the other clans, really.
