It was the morning after Rabbitswift's ceremony and the young warrior felt tired. The night was cold and snowy, making his vigil a cold, quiet night. A vigil was just one of the Clan customs, during this time a warrior had to stay up and guard their Clan while they slept. There was no talking and all one could do was sit and wait for the sun to rise. The young warrior yawned and his head hung low while he made his way to the warriors' den.
The only bright side about a vigil was the long sleep he would receive afterwards, and he liked sleep. Rabbitswift smiled at the thought and continued towards the den. It was unlikely many warriors would be inside the den, but Rabbitswift wouldn't mind. He just hoped that if there was a warrior that was giddy to talk that they would do all the talking. Rabbitswift didn't bother making a nest and just decided to go to the corner and sleep for the time being. He could always make his own nest later, but for now he felt tired. So with that he curled up in the corner to rest.

Sagefur padded into the Warriors den, yawning. She was so tired, and wasn't feeling well either. The den was mostly full- it was late, and she had gone hunting. She'd brought back two mice, which would probably get fed to the kits later.
Suddenly, a strange caught her attention. He was curled up in a corner, looking on the verge of sleep. She couldn't stop looking at him.

Like most weary warriors, Rabbitswift ignored the incoming pawsteps. He was more focused on sleeping, but he noticed the pawsteps just stopped. He looked up to a ginger coloured she-cat near the entrance of the den. Rabbitswift noticed that she was looking at him, which made him nervous. Does she think that I don't belong here? Rabbitswift thought. "Uh, can I help you?" Rabbitswift asked wearily.

Sagefur snapped out of her strange trance and shook her head, trying to clear it. Why had she been so....so freaked out by this cat? She didn't know. Then she realized that the other cat was staring at her with a nervous expression on his face. "Uh, can I help you?" The cat said, probably wondering what was wrong with her. She padded closer to the cat, wondering if something could have startled her. Nothing out of the ordinary about the cat. Shaking her head, she focused her attention back to what he had said. Embarrassed, she thought for a moment before speaking, then responded: "Sorry, you just startled me is all. My name is Sagefur. What my yours be?"

Rabbitswift watched as the she-cat padded closer to him. She hesitated to answer his question and looked a bit embarrassed. When she said that he had startled her, he was kind of surprised, since all he had been doing was sleeping in the den, like all warriors. She stated her name along with that and asked for his in return. "I am Rabbitswift," he answered. Rabbitswift would have liked to rest, but he didn't mind chatting with another warrior. He hadn't met Sagefur before, making him curious about who this she-cat was.

Rabbitswift. Not a name she'd heard before. "Well, it's nice to meet you Rabbitswift. Sorry, I'm not sure why you startle me, don't worry about it." Rambling. nice, sage, real nice.

Rabbitswift didn't mind the rambling really, he was a talkative cat anyways. Rabbitswift smiled, he didn't want her to think that he didn't appreciate being disturbed. "It's fine. Besides, there was no harm done," Rabbitswift meowed. Rabbitswift paused, trying to think of a topic for them to talk about. "So, what do you like to do?" Rabbitswift asked curiously. He was hoping he may have found a fellow trickster and would be able to have some fun.
Rabbitswift had his sister Treeface to go and trick other cats with, but he hadn't seen her in a while. He also only had a few friends, so he hoped that he would've found another trickster.

Sagefur was relieved that the tom had taken her disturbance well, or so it appeared. She thought about his question for a moment before answering. What do I like to do? she thought, racking her brain for answers. Finally, she sighed, giving up.
"Well, I like to hunt and stuff....the usual." Nice going sage. Not lame at all. she thought sarcastically, until another thought hit her. "Although as an apprentice I would climb trees and jump out and scare other cats passing by. I don't really have anyone to do it with anymore though..." she mentally sighed at the thought. Tree-jumping had been fun, and Sage had awesome climbing and speed abilities; which made up for her lack of strength.
"What about you?" she added, trying to be polite.

Rabbitswift smiled at the idea of cats being startled by an apprentice. He laughed to himself about the thought. "Sounds like fun," Rabbitswift commented. He didn't mind the company of Sagefur, for she was actually wasn't too bad. The question soon came back at him, and he hesitated and thought of an answer. "I like exploring, chatting and tricking others of course. My sister and I, when we were kits, got another kit to go sliding into a mound of snow," Rabbitswift meowed, telling a story of his trickery.

Sageleaf gasped at his story, but she couldn't help but smile. "Poor kit! What happened after?" She laughed. She just couldn't help it. She liked talking to this tom. He was funny and easy to talk to; two things Sage valued.

Rabbitswift heard her gasp, but looked over to see a smile on Sageleaf's face. She laughed well she asked him about the kit he had tricked. "She got all dramatic. Said she was going to leave camp, which of course was just plain unlikely. She was like 'How could you? I am going to leave camp because of this!'" Rabbitswift explained, then went on. "However we all knew it was a trick. She just wanted us to feel bad over a harmless trick. I was surprised she didn't go crying to the queens over it," Rabbitswift finished his story.

"Haha, I knew someone who was like that as a kit, though I can't remember her name....Thunderkit maybe? Maybe not. Either way, she was really dramatic about everything." Sagefur explained. Sage was relieved the cat was okay, and was amused at the story.

"Everything? Wow that must've been annoying. The kit we tricked was named Dovekit." Rabbitswift meowed. Sageleaf seemed cool, at least she hadn't said that he was mean for doing that trick. "Do you just wanna keep asking questions? It's a good way to get to know each other," Rabbitswift suggested. He wanted to get to know some other warriors and he had a chance to.

She smiled and nodded. "Yeah sure." She replied, genuily happy he'd asked. "So....who was your mentor?" Sage asked.

It didn't take Rabbitswift long to come to a conclusion to Sageleaf's question. "My mentor was Splashstream. I liked having her as a mentor, she was nice," Rabbitswift meowed, complimenting his mentor to Sageleaf. "Now who was yours?" Rabbitswift asked, swinging the question back.
