Coalpaw sat in the apprentice den, her black tail curling around her paws. She hadn't had much time to play with her friends; who were still kits. The black cat sighed and lowered her head into her paws. There was no one to talk to.
"Hello? Is anyone here?" She mewed boredly.

Lightpaw trotted into the apprentices den with his head held high, a proud heir still hanging about him from being praised on an earlier catch on his from when he was out hunting with his mentor. His pale pelt had made it hunting for him hard at first, but he beginning to get better: although that aspect of his training was still overshadowed by his battle ability. The small tom’s fluffy ears twitched as they caught the voice of another cat. Blinking his leaf-hued eyes, he scanned the den, his gaze catching on a black she-cat who hadn’t seen before. “Hey,” he greeted, giving an acknowledging nod as he padded over to her, “you look new. Did ya just have your apprentice ceremony recently?”

A pale golden tabby padded over to Coalpaw. "Yeah, I just had my ceremony. My name's Coalpaw. What's yours?" At least someone decided to talk to her. The black she-cat needed some apprentice friends while she was waiting for her other friends to become 'paws.

“Lightpaw,” the small tom informed, straightening his posture and raising his head proudly as he spoke his name. “Though I’m sure you’ve probably heard of me,” he said cockily, taking a seat next to the she-cat and wrapped his feathery-furred tail around his paws. “So, has your mentor taken you on a tour around camp yet?” the golden asked, tipping his head to the side.

Coalpaw giggled at Lighpaw's cockiness. "Sorry sir, but I have not heard of you," the black apprentice dipped her head in a mock bow, a smile gracing her muzzle. She straightened out and became serious once again (not like it was going to last). "Well, my mentor has been showing me around the territory, but not around the camp yet. I know in General where everything is, but not exactly."
She then smirked, "Could I have the honor to have the famous Lightpaw show me around camp?"

“I suppose you could,” Lightpaw drawled as he bounced easily to his feet. A slight tensing sensation in his stomach reminded him that he hand’t stopped for a meal before he had entered the den, meaning the last time he ate was before his hunting patrol. “As long as you’re willing to trek over to the fresh-kill pile— I assume you know where that is?” the pale golden tom stated, flashing a teasing smile at the she-cat.

Coalpaw flustered, "Of course I know where the fresh-kill pile is, fur ball!" She got up and padded to the entrance. "Wanna share somethin' or are you too royal to share a small mouse with me?" Coalpaw rolled her eyes and held back a small giggle.

“Oh, I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt my reputation too much to share one meal with you,” Lightpaw teased in a nonchalant tone, matching his pass with Coalpaw’s. His green eyes settled on the fresh-kill pile once they exited the den, and he almost drooled at the sight of food— the prey seems to be running well in the territory these days, he thought (almost dreamily), or, at least its more plentiful than during leaf-bare.

after the disco, all of the shine just faded away all of the shine just faded away I looked around the nursery, yawning, and wondering at who could have woken me up at this hour. It wasn't that it was late at night, it was just that I'd gone out on a dawn patrol earlier and was still quite tired. However, not being one to be down about the possibility of meeting new cats, I spotted the two apprentices chatting and padded over to them. I waited for a good interval before saying, "Hello! My name is Melodypaw! Who are you guys?"

Coalpaw rolled her eyes at Lightpaw's reputation comment. Before she could replay, another apprentice padded over to them.
"Hey, Melodypaw!" She greeted. "My name's Coalpaw. Would you like to get some fresh-kill with us?"

The pale golden tabby blinked over at Melodypaw. He flicked his ears back the acute pain of hunger made itself aware in his stomach when Coalpaw mentioned fresh-kill. “Oh, and please do take your sweet time deciding,” Lightpaw said sarcastically, glancing longingly at the pile of prey, “it’s not like I’m dying from hunger over here, or anything important like that”

Dawnpaw padded outside the apprentice den, the sunlight gleaming on her pelt. She spotted her two friends and the new cat. She ran up to them mewing happily, "Lightpaw! Melodypaw! New cat! Hiya!" Her eyes gleamed as she spotted lightpaw, "Hiya your majesty." She mewed with a purr of amusement.

"Hello, I'm Coalpaw!" She greeted the light brown she-cat. "What's your name?" Coalpaw then turned towards Lightpaw, eyes glimmering with mirth. The new apprentice poked his stomach with her paw. "Well, Mr. Impatient, let's go get some fresh-kill then."
Without waited for a response, Coalpaw bounded over to the fresh-kill pile and picked up a plump mouse. "Anyone want to share?" Her voice was muffled by the food.

Lightpaw chuckled a bit as he dipped his head in greeting to Dawnpaw— glad to see her, though his mind was still clouded by hunger. He was racing after Coalpaw in heartbeat when he spotted the juicy looking mouse, gesturing with his tabby tail for the two other she-cats to follow. They’re was plenty of fresh-kill for all now that the weather had warmed up. “Oh, I’m sure it wouldn’t ruin my beautiful figure too much if I had just one bite,” the small tabby couldn’t keep himself from saying before he took a tentative mouthful of mouse, careful to keep himself clean.

Coalpaw out down the mouse and allowed Lightpaw to take a bite. While he was chewing carefully, she leaned down and took a bite of her own, savoring the taste of her favorite food. With a swallow, the apprentice asked everyone, "So who are your mentors? I have Palewing."
