Brackensky listened intently. She wasn't too sure of this whole, Cloudclan and Darkpool thing... But the fact that there was a visible dead cat over there more or less cemented her beliefs. Her eyes were wide, she was quite shocked. Her entire life, she'd believed that once a cat was dead.... They were dead. Nothing after that. Nothing would ever change that and cats who thought different were most likely in denial or completely delusional and to be avoided. The knowledge that what she previously had believed and accepted as truth wasn't exactly true... Well... It explained why her normally calm face was now filled with emotion. She looked at Jackalfrost carefully. " Alright. So... I understand this is a gathering that is not like most others. I... Think I believe in Cloudclan now." She glanced briefly at Nighthowl before her attention returned to the cat in front of her. " But... You mentioned Darkpool as well. What is Darkpool?" She inquired. She hadn't even heard of Darkpool at all... She'd heard of Cloudclan here and there but no Darkpool. By the way Jackalfrost was speaking, it sounded like they weren't popular. What was special about them? Oceanstar

Nighthowl cast a few embarrassed looks at the cats who saw her and flattened her ears. When were the others gonna get here? "Nighthowl, former fireclanner." She said, then she cocked her head and noted to the rockclanner. "Note yourself to stay away from hawks, saying you live near them a little too uncomfortably." She then cast a look at Brackensky.
She must have scared the queen out of her wits.

Frostpaw shrugged. It was nice to have some upheaval, especially since the ranks of Rockclan were beginning to ignore their duties. She didn't think any den had been cleaned by apprentices in ages. Sometimes, the size of her clan bothered her, how things sometimes took longer to be done, how vulnerable they would be in times of war. Though, most of the time it was like a little family. It was easier to get to know everyone, she had to admit that. "I'm not too sure, I think it's good to have different cats. The old ones have had their run, I think."

"Honey, we're Darkpool." The she-cat flicked her tail and gave a small crooked smile. "Someone should brush up the kittens on their knowledge. Looks like someone hasn't been doing her homework." The spotted she-cat yawned, making her way into the clearing. "Fancy place.. I never thought I'd be hearing that a gathering would welcome Darkpool and CloudClan alike." Her gaze scanned the clearing.
"That's a drag. No other Darkpoolers have showed up yet.. maybe they won't."

Palewolf entered the scene, hearing a bit of commotion from Feathermist. "Ah, c'mon Feathermist chill out. It's a gathering. Don't get your tail in a twist. Relax, even if you aren't exactly the most pleasant to be around at least you've been allowed to come." His smile was innocent but almost directed a hint of hidden hostility that could only be read if you really took the time to notice, which he figured Feathermist would. She wasn't dumb, but certainly not a good cat. Which explained reasons for her choice in afterlife.
"..Hello!" Palewolf said as he joined the gathering. He sort of hoped maybe someone would want to chat. Then again would anyone want to talk to a ghost?

Brackensky's attention was torn from the Fireclan deputy to the sudden appearance of two new spirits.
It took her quite a lot to resist gaping at them. She'd heard them loud and clear, it hadn't been like they were whispering. She really hoped there wouldn't be enough spirits to outnumber the living cats here. She'd only just been presented with proof. An overload might've broken the queen temporarily. As of now, she was finding it difficult to think of anything else. Apparently at least one Darkpooler was here? She was still utterly confused by what Darkpool was.
"U-Uh... Wha... What.... Dead... Spirits....?" She mumbled, finding herself incapable of forming a coherent sentence.

MAPS CAN BE POEMS WHEN YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN | "Oh yeah?" He murmured, cocking his head. "Do you know anything about the previous medicine cat and queen?" Thicketpaw asked curiously. One of the previous Treeclan queens had been his mother, but he hadn't known the deputy at all. It seemed a shame. If someone was in a position of power, they had a responsibility to make themselves known. Frostpaw |

Dragging her gaze away from Spiderstar, Petalfur met the other cat's gaze, nodding her head in acknowledgement of the comment, which she took as a mild thread. "Petalfur, of Iceclan," She responded maturely, her tail twitching across her front paws in silent greeting. "And you would be?"

Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do. I'm half-crazy all for the love of you. It wont be a stylish marriage, I can't afford a carriage. But you'll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two. Darkpool was....they seemed more a nuisance than a source of terror. After all, how much damage could a few ghosts truly do? Luckily, even better than explaining was the not-so-physical evidence that appeared in the clearing. He figured it had to be a shock to Brackensky, and glancing at her, she was most definitely struggling with accepting it. Poor thing. He'd barely believed in them himself as a kit. "Cloudclan is filled with brave warriors, and those who died with good hearts," he explained, nodding between Palewolf and Nighthowl. "Darkpool is the opposite, cruel creatures and generally terrible people go there. Apparently they exist in darkness until they are simply forgotten and fade away. They're downright annoying." With a sigh of relief he noticed that neither Llamafuzz or Woollyfoot were present. The leading figures of the Darkpool, they'd been terrorizing his clan for the past moon.

Moons of experience with gatherings made Jayfoot accustomed to the unexpected surprises that usually occurred during these meetings, but nothing prepared him for pumpkins and dead cat spirits mingling with the living. Needless to say, it spooked the calico tom. His amber eyes were wide, and he was certain that he'd heard one of the spirits claim to be from Darkpool. Jayfoot wondered if dead cats could smell fear. "What even is this actually?" he murmured out loud. Without even noticing, Jayfoot's gaze swept the area, hoping against all odds that there would be some sign of her.

Brackensky swallowed. " Oh.... Ok..." She murmured, still feeling more than slightly overwhelmed. Though, at least she'd gotten a right and proper explanation for both. Though, the requirements for going to Darkpool sounded like Darkpoolers were of the dangerous sort, but Jackalfrost called them simply annoying. Well... As spirits they couldn't hurt the living... Right?! She only had just learned and accepted that there was an afterlife... A split one in fact. It's not like she suddenly gained all knowledge of how they worked! She figured she better ask to be sure... " They can't hurt us... Can they?" She asked, somewhat nervous now. She felt like clawing herself for losing her composure like this, but she refrained. She needed to ask questions. " Ah... Physically." She amended quickly. Then quietly added, slightly looking away, " Not that words don't leave scars..." Oceanstar

Spruceclaw agreed with her. Ha, that was different. She really needed to socialize more if she was surprised by someone agreeing with her statement. "Hmm. You probably will. But so will I." Sunsetpaw muttered with a faint shrug of her shoulders. More ghosts appeared... Sunnyset even heard them talking... so casually as if they weren't dead. Well, it was hard for any non-believers to fight against this spooky scene. Literally, the cats were walking through the living and did that cat say they were from Dark Pool...?I decide to socialize. Sunnyset grumbled with a shiver, as if a spirit had walked through her too. Maybe one had.... On the day the dead come to chat. Huh.

Willowheart "Annoying or mean? I think that might be people in general, not just apprentices," Snailpaw purred, vaguely amused. "My second mentor Applescorch was real scary, she threw rocks and acorns at me when I didn't do something fast enough." That was a little bit more than annoying though, he guessed.

He almost felt bad for Brackensky, who seemed to be having quite a shock. However, it was pretty amusing for him to watch, and he was still annoyed by the spirits themselves. "Well, to be honest I'm not entirely sure," he admitted. "I've heard of some rumors of spirits attacking living cats, but they could have just been stories. Anything this is a gathering, it's supposed to be peaceful. You're quite safe here, surrounded by warriors as you are." He was sure that even if an instance did occur, the warriors and deputies would rush to protect the apprentices and queens first and foremost.
