"I see." Esther paused, looking at the river. She hadn't caught a fish in her life. 'But if it's so easy I might as well give it a shot.' She decided to try it out later, though, in case she ended up looking dumb in front of Serenity. "I've never had rabbit. What's it like?"

Serenity thought for a moment. "It's sort of stringy, but also very juicy if those two can go together. It doesn't taste like a mouse though, more.... bitter?" she said, not sure if that was quite the right word.

'Stringy?' That made it sound terrible. 'Bitter, too? I can't see how that would be good.' Maybe Serenity had a weird taste in prey. She ate fish, after all. Esther didn't say anything in response, instead just giving her companion a nod.

"Sorry, I am horrible at expllaining food." she muttered. "I'm not even sure bitter is the right word to use. Or stringy. But rabbit is defiantly... different."

"No no, you're fine." Esther reassured, looking over at Serenity with a gentle smile. 'I think I'm just a picky eater. I hope she isn't upset with my reaction.'

Serenity smiled. "So, how long have you been in deathclan?" she asked.

"I don't know. Not very long." It felt like yesterday she was getting ready to run off with Parisa. "And you?"

Serenity shook her head. "I guess it's been like six moons... but it feels like no time at all." she smiled. "How did you get here?"

'Six moons!' That was such a long time! Esther looked down at her paws, trying to hide her surprise. She looked back up once Serenity asked a question. "Oh I just... ran away." She flicked an ear. "What about you?"

Serenity tried to keep a smile on her face, though it was hard, nearly impossible. "My brother left me and my parents had been killed. I was just wandering and happened upon this place." she said, voice wavering slightly. "Sorry, I had gotten over all of this a long time back, but a subjuct matter has re opened the fact that I was there when they were killedd and I guess you could say did nothing." she added. Did nothing? Now that was a lie. She sure had been there though.

Esther stayed quiet, surprised by how much Serenity opened up. 'She really isn't the secretive type, is she?' She looked away when Serenity apologized, realizing she'd have to say something. "Don't be sorry. That must have been tough."

"Okay..." Esther shrugged when Serenity went on. "I wasn't really looking for any."

Serenity nodded, though she doubted that to be true. She placed a fake smile on her mouth though, making sure it looked perfectly real as she went to get a drink of water.

Esther could tell that Serenity didn't believe her. She didn't care. That was her problem. She sighed, bringing up a fluffy paw to lick.
