Willowpaw had overslept, her exhausted body incapable of forcing itself to stay awake for such long periods of time as she had been doing lately. She was completely furious with herself, Willowpaw just knew that every cat who had seen her sleeping thought that she was lazy and pathetic because of it. There was probably all sorts of prey that she could've caught when she'd been sleeping, but no, Willowpaw had been selfish instead.
She wanted to catch something impressive, a squirrel. Those weren't found commonly in Fireclan, and it took skill to catch one, especially for Fireclan cats, which weren't built for chasing them. Willowpaw headed over to the Treeclan border, and stayed just outside the scent-line, stalking around and searching for her prey of choice.
Spotting a squirrel just inside of Fireclan territory, nibbling on some kind of nut or seed, Willowpaw dropped into a crouch, and began to creep towards it, her entire body tense, practically shaking.
Her tail brushed against the ground, disturbing a leaf. In an instant, the squirrel ran, and Willowpaw darted after it, determined to catch it, no matter what. There didn't seem to be any cats around, and it was a Fireclan squirrel first.
Willowpaw pinned it, delivering the killing bite, and finding that she was just a fox-length inside Treeclan territory.. But as long as no one saw her, it was alright.

Dog had been watching from a comfy tree, paws crossed over each other. He'd taken to spending more and more time amongst the trees, though refused to believe it had anything to do with now being a Treeclan cat. That kind of logic was ridiculous. In his heart Dog still acted like a rogue, but he was loyal to Treeclan. So he'd elected to keep a close eye on the Fireclan cat as she moved audaciously close to his border, what with having nothing better to do. So it was that as soon as her little paws crossed the border, Dog was hurtling down the tree, his large bulk making him a powerful bullet.
He surged across the ground towards the she-cat, ears pinned and fangs bared. "Trespasser!" He howled, throwing himself upon, aiming to grasp her shoulders and force her to the ground with his considerable size and muscle. Having been named after a dog, it was fairly obvious that Dog was slightly larger than average.

Before Willowpaw had sufficient time to react, a massive Treeclan cat barreled into her, and she was forced onto her back, the blow sending her several fox-lengths away from the recently caught squirrel. Various curses ran through her mind as she looked up at the Treeclan tom who weighed her down with ease.
Willowpaw could try to flee her way out of this situation, but she knew that she was in the wrong, and if she ran, both clan leaders would hear of what happened. She could be exiled, over a stupid squirrel.
"You're crushing me, let me up!" The silvery apprentice spat, squirming beneath him. She was weak, underfed, and in no shape to be fighting, but she still struggled anyways. "I-I wasn't even trespassing, I just.. I thought I could get it before it went on your territory!"

Dog turned his unimpressed golden eyes upon the young she-cat. She certainly had fire, to be fighting the way she was. In her condition, he rather thought he could use her as a toothpick. Fireclan cats had always been skinny, but her condition was simply ridiculous. Perhaps Fireclan were having trouble with the cold and finding prey. Just because he was remarkably intrigued didn't mean he was going to let her up though.
The pointed tom made a show of glancing towards the border, then back at the squirrel. "Trespassing was exactly what you were doing," he retorted, tail tip twitching in annoyance. "As soon as that squirrel crossed the border it became Treeclan property. Didn't your mentor teach you anything, brat?" He flexed his claws against her chest for good measure, though not too firmly. It didn't appear she was a real threat, but she was certainly something that had to be dealt with. "Why would I let you up? You're an intruder and a possible threat."

"..Yeah, I shouldn't have crossed the border. But I did, and you can't do anything to change that." Willowpaw's tone was extremely uppity for a cat in her position. She didn't bother telling him that no, her mentor didn't teach her anything, which was why she was still an apprentice, even when she was well past old enough to become a warrior.
She growled, the tip of her tail twitching in irritation. "I'm not a threat, I made a mistake. Just let me go and I'll leave, the squirrel is yours."
Getting tired of being at this cat's mercy, Willowpaw went limp beneath him for several moments, and then with her Fireclan agility and speed, tried to pull herself out from underneath this tom.

Dog tightened his claws again in warning before relaxing again. "I could make sure you remember for next time though," he replied, low and threatening. No, he very much doubted he was actually going to bring serious harm to the young female. She was just a child after all, and while he didn't forgive, he also was not interested in fighting opponents so much weaker than himself. "Very good. I'll take it back to my clan later."
As the apprentice went limp Dog picked his ears. Anticipating some form of trickery and finished with his threats, the tom stepped away and sat down just as Willowpaw made her move. Wherever she scrabbled to, Dog was no longer holding her down. His ropy tail flicked absently as he watched, eyes narrow in case she decided to cause more trouble. "Well, what are you planning to do now? Get back behind the border I hope."

"I wouldn't want to stay on Treeclan anyways." Willowpaw muttered and hastily relocated the border, crossing over to her side. She was using rudeness as a front to cover up how flustered she was at her stupid mistake, though she doubted that the Treeclan warrior was falling for it. He seemed quite old, and much more experienced than her, showing it when he saw what she was planning and choosing to simply allow Willowpaw to get up.
Willowpaw hoped that this run-in wouldn't come back to haunt her. She was already overworking herself emotionally and physically to become a warrior, and if anything happened to hold back her ceremony, she wouldn't be able to take it. "You aren't going to tell you leader about this.. Are you?" She asked, her eyes hollow and gaunt.

Dog gave a snort of derision at her sass, not too bothered. There was still a part of him that didn't want to stay in Treeclan either, so he could hardly fault the she-cat there. Still, the encounter from the start had promised to be boring. He couldn't very well battle a child after all. What he needed was a real, good fight for a change.
"I don't tell Arrowstar about the dirt between my claws or the number of times I crap in a day. What makes you think I'd tell him about a pathetic scrap like you?" He replied calmly, bending his head to examine his unsheathed claws. "Besides, if I don't tell him, it means next time I catch you over here we can have some real fun." The warning gleam was back in his eyes as he raised his head. "So unless you wanted to find yourself in ribbons, watch the border from now on."

Willowpaw didn't point out that it was perfectly reasonable for her to think that he might tell his leader, since he took clan borders so seriously, and was acting uptight enough to do such a thing. Arguing semantics would never get anyone anywhere, and the thought of it left a bad taste in Willowpaw's mouth.
She bristled at his insult, her tail lashing. "I'm not a scrap of fur! I've held my own against cats plenty bigger than me, tearing me apart wouldn't be that easy." Despite Willowpaw's words, she knew that she wouldn't fare well against the large tom. He wasn't just bigger than her, he was much more experienced, and Willowpaw had been taking care of herself when she'd won her fights. Now, Willowpaw wasn't even a match for a strong wind.
Not that she would ever admit that. Willowpaw didn't care if the tom tore her apart, she valued her pride over her life. "If you want a fight, you can have one!" The silvery she-cat snarled, baring her teeth.
