Calista tilted her head, feeling good like a kit as she spoke, "Boys are weird," she said, deciding it was a stand alone comment and didn't need any more explanation.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki let out a small laugh. It was funny, because he could say the same for girls. Girls would do the most unexpected things, but then again, some boys could also do that.
(( my posts slowly get worse and worse. plus sorry for the random disappearance, i was drawing))

Calista grinned. "I'm still not going back there."

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki blew a small bubble of air into the wind, as if he had given up. "Then I won't ask you to," he finally decided on saying. If she didn't want to go back to their home, then she didn't have to, as long as she didn't stand in the way of Loki returning. He missed the golden halls and beautiful sunrises, and the distant sound of water falling over the Edge. He missed the proud cats that roamed through the palace day in and day out, and everything they used to do. He missed his brother's friends, which he guessed he could also call his friends. Execpt, they would kill him, or attempt to kill him, if he ever betrayed his brother. But if his brother betrayed him, they would do nothing. Loki internally spat, what friends...

Calista nodded. "If you do find a way back, remember the old saying; 'No trees grow to the sky.*'" she said with a small smile. "But you're not leaving at this moment, so let's just talk about something else."
*An old Norse proverb saying no one lives forever.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki rolled his eyes at the saying she spoke off. "Yes but I'm pretty sure this tree will be much taller than the trees around here," he responded with a small, sly smile. It was true, and Cali knew it. Then, she wanted a sudden subject change. "Fine then," Loki said and laid back on his stomach, his hauched sticking out the top of his pelt, along with his shoulders. He laid one paw over the other and looked at her expectantly.

Calista grinned meekly as he turned to her for another subject and she didn't have one set up already. She thought quickly though, but didn't bring up what her mind went to instantly. "What were their last words?" she asked in a hushed tone, talking about their parents.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki sighed and turned away from her gaze to stare straight ahead. It felt like forever ago when their parents took their last breaths, but their last words were memorial. "Mother said to live life to the fullest, take risks, and be free." He gave the smallest of smiles, but it dropped off his face as he went on. "Father said he was extremely proud of Thor, but when he turned to see me standing there..." his voice somewhat caught. His father had given him a look of disappointment, but it didn't last long. Lightningstrike's features had changed about five times in a second, and it seemed hard for him to form words to tell Loki. "He told me to keep looking. I have no idea what that means."

Calista was silent for a moment before she laughed. It was hushed and had a tint of bitterness, but it was still a laugh. "What were his exact words that he said to you guys?"

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki frowned slightly at the fact she began to laugh. Obviously, she didn't think him serious. "He said, 'Grayfang, I'm proud of the warrior you've become.'" Loki said the words quite like he was talking to a kit, not wanted to look back on exactly what his father had told him. "Then he turned to me and said, 'Ravenblaze... if I could've lived to see the day, I would be proud of you, as well..' He never believed in me."

Calista laughed again. "He always did think you more worthy," she said, rolling her eyes. "He always believed in you. He also always needed to give you a push. When you thought he thought Thor better, it gave you to push to be better." she explained. She had figured it out shortly before she 'left,' and had never gotten the chance to tell him.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki frowned once more. "Thanks father, for being so encouraging," he said sarcastically. "I always needed your disappointment to keep me going."

Calista shrugged. "It did work though. Thor thrived on being complemented and acknowledged. You trived on competition."

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY "I hardly think that's fair," Loki complained, casting a distasteful glance at Cali. He wasn't sure how he felt about him 'thriving on competition,' but at least his mother had always been encouraging and kind.

Calista shrugged. "I never said I supported it. It was what he thought would work though. He did care, he was just trying to do what he thought was best for you."
