SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki's ears slowly dropped. He had interpreted his father completely wrong, and now he was dead, and there was nothing to do. He let out a small huff, which also sounded like a sigh. His eyes turned soft, and he looked away to the treetops beyond.

Calista tilted her head head. "Loki. It's alright. You only interpreted him wrong because he wanted you to. He could very well have been doing it to me."

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY The world seemed upside down, and Loki couldn't do anything about it. He turned to Cali with a fierce look in his eyes, though they were on the edge of tears. "I can't go back," he nearly spat. "I can't show him that I was trying, that I wanted his approval and never got it. What was I doing wrong?"

"What were you doing wrong?" she asked creduously, sounding almost like Morningdew, a cat who was Calista's friend back in Asgaurd who had come from another land. She had rubbed of quite a bit on Calista. "Did you not listen to this whole conversation? Nothing. He was proud of you. He did love you. He didn't look up to you, but he looked up to no cat. He was proud of you and trying to make sure that you lived up to your potential, which you will not do by being a coward and returning to that... that place!" she said spatting the word place.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki nearly bristled. "I am no coward. That place is our home. It would be cowardice to grovel here, on this rock and not return to the place where we belong, where Thor belongs." After the words came from his mouth, he realized that he had somehow taken his brother's side without knowing it. Cali had won, and Loki had switched from her over to him in a matter of seconds, without seeing what was happening.

Calista saw that her plan had actually worked, but she had also actually gotten caught up in it, and wasn't just about to drop it. "Loki. Can you not just let them live in peace?" she said, seething as she continued, "You cannot even stand to be away from your home enough to be a good leader. If you want to lead, then you have to actually be a good leader. A good leader wouldn't go to his nation after leaving it unless he could do something to better it. Because, even if you just return and stay as a commoner or whatever you want to be when you return, you will cause trouble. You will bring more pain to the nation than you will relieve and you would do this just so that you can be comforted. So that you can return home. There are multiple ways to be a coward, and that right there? That is one of the worst kinds."

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki growled. "You don't understand, so I'm not going to try to convince you of anything." He stood without an expression. "It was nice seeing you again, Calista."
(( sorry for ending it so soon ))

(It's fine. She was about to up and leave too.) "I'm not the one who doesn't understand. You are." she said, turning around and going back to chasing Thor. Except now she was ready to leave. It was true. He wouldn't see her again if he said no. But she would also even ready. She would be ready to stop them from returning to Asgaurd.

SEARCHING IN THE DARKNESS WE ARE CREATURES OF THE NIGHT RUNNING FROM THE DAY Loki gave one last glance her direction. This meeting had gone for the worse, and he wished it hadn't gone in that direction, but it did. He turned without a sound and padded away. He would talk to Thor tomorrow.
