Loki nodded and leaped to the next branch. He tired choosing branches that were close to the one they were currently on. "If you ever want to turn back, don't hesitate to say so, but you'll love it when we get to the top." He wouldn't think her weak if she said she didn't want to move on, since she was brave enough to climb the tree in the first place, but he really wanted her to feel what it was like at the top.

Sky scowled. "I'm not a stupid little kit, so don't talk to me like I am one." She didn't need any reassurance from him. Sky lunged up after him, this time sticking the landing. She was certainly a fast learner, though when the branches became further apart, she was sure she would be back at square one.

Loki rolled his eyes, remembering why he usually doesn't act very kindly towards other cats. What had happened to the trickster he used to be? Something had made him soft, and he gave a small scowl. The next cat he met would meet the old him, not the new, squishy, 'everyone's perfect him.'
Loki leaped to the next branch, then looked back to see how far the distance was between them. Not too far, but further than the last. The branches were gradually separating, and Loki wondered if it was better if they went straight up. He looked above him to see a branch hanging close. If he stood on his hind paws, he could wrap his forelegs around it.

Sky flicked her ears as he jumped up- further this time. She flattened her ears against her head, digging her claws into the bark. She hesitated before jumping. Why was she even doing this? It had no benefits for her. Despite that fact she surged forward anyway, gathering power in her hind legs to leap.
Sky perched cautiously next to him, her tail lashing to maintain balance. The jump hadn't been so hard. When he stretched up to touch another branch, Sky copied him to get a judge of its height. It felt sturdy enough, so without waiting for him she scrambled up.

Loki smiled as she climbed onto the branch before him, then leaped upon it himself. He looked up again, wondering if any other branches were like that. There was another, but it wasn't as close. He bunched his legs and leaped a short distance, up and out, before landing on the branch. He looked back to Sky, wondering if she could make it safely.

Sky followed him with her nose as he lunged, wiggling her haunches in anticipation. She lunged upwards towards the branch, slightly to the left of him, though she misjudged the leap. She had ended up jumping a smidge too high. She flailed slightly, landing awkwardly on the branch.

L oki reached out to steady her, but stopped as she seemed okay. He nodded and turned to look at the next branch. They were close to the top now, around three more branches and they would be there. He nodded at her and leaped to the next branch. ((new theme yippe!! do you like it?))

Sky sensed him reaching towards her, though he drew back once she was able to steady herself on her own. She flashed him a reassuring grin, quickly wiping it off her face. Since when did she care enough to do that? She flattened her ears against her head, leaping up next to him without any problems. "Are we almost to the top?" She grumbled, though the excitement in her voice was unmistakable.
(It's so good!!!! Love the yellow bit)

L oki nodded, then remembered she couldn't see that. "Yes," he said with a smile, and already felt the breeze softly ruffle his short fur. He could hint the excitement, and he was glad she was enjoying this. Loki was also glad he thought about it, knowing she probably couldn't do this on her own. He leaped to the next branch. It got a little windier, but it was a balmy day. He looked down at her, only two more branches to go, then their heads would peak out the top of the leaves, over a canopy of many trees.

Sky lunged up after him, eager to get higher. She lifted her head as a cool breeze tangled through her fur. If she had eyes, they would be sparkling. She clenched her jaw tightly, facing his direction. She wanted to thank him- she even opened her mouth to speak, though she quickly closed it. She had a reputation to keep.

L oki leaped to the next branch. The leaves above were so close, just one more branch. Anticipation started to build within him, though he knew he had to wait for Sky. Besides, he was doing this for her. "One more," he said, reaching up and placing his paws on the next branch. He leaped forward, and his head went straight through the leaves. Sunlight hit his face, warming his black fur. He slowly opened his eyes, which he had shut going through the leaves, and blinked them. He looked around for Sky's head.

Sky took on the last two branches with relative ease, inhaling softly as she felt the sunlight hit her face. The leaves tickled her neck, and her fur puffed out, a grin stretched across her face. For a moment, just a moment, she forgot where she was. Who she was. All that mattered was she was here, up in the tree, feeling the sun. "What does it look like?" She questioned, her voice low, almost hoping that he wouldn't here her. It was stupid to ask him to explain the scenery.

L oki drank in everything around him, smiling at Sky's grin. That, right there, was what he had wanted to see. He turned to look out across the scene, and then he heard Sky say something. The breeze nearly took it away, and he wondered if she had said anything. Though, he had sharp ears, and he thought she had asked him to explain the scenery. Loki started explaining, knowing that she would love to see it. Up here, he didn't care about his reputation, it was like a different world. He didn't care if she thought him weird. If she hadn't asked, he probably would've explained it to her anyway. "Its green, like grass. Hills and hills, slopes going up and down like ripples on a pond. Each leaf dances in the wind as far as the eye can see. In the distance is a snowy mountain, rising up from the tree line. It's sparkling with snow. There are blue butterflies flying up. They might start attacking you, I would watch out." He teased about the butterflies part.

Sky listened to his explanation intently, her ears lifting slightly. She tried hard to imagine it, though most of her seeing memories from a kit were gone by now. It was never really necessary to remember them.
At the mention of butterflies she huffed doubtfully, though the smile remained on her face either way. She thought about getting down, though she really didn't want to. It would be hard to get down, and even if it would be easy, she didn't want to leave the cool breeze.
"It sounds beautiful." Her voice was still quiet, her tone whispy. All she wanted was to be here, up in the trees. She tried standing taller, hoping to get an even better feel of things.

L oki stood silently, letting her enjoy the moment. He knew she wouldn't get another like this in a long time, and he hoped she remembered what it was like, climbing a tree. It was something he took for granted, and now, he thought he should be more grateful.
